Mrs. Ada Bailey age 70 of Tinsley, Kentucky, passed away wednesday november 19th 1975 at the Pineville Community Hospital.

Mrs. Bailey was born in Knox County Kentucky, March 20th 1904 and was the daughter of the late John and Cordie Smith Mills.She is survived by her husband Mr. Pete Bailey of Tinsley, Kentucky. nine children Mrs. Cresie Mills, Mr. John Bailey, Mrs. Dora Warren all of Arjay Kentucky,Mr. Lee Bailey of Tinsley Ky, Mr. Ray Bailey of Arjay Ky.,Mr. Walter Bailey of Tinsley, Ky,Mrs Louise Reed of Roarke, Ky.,Mr. Elbert Bailey and Mr. Raymond Bailey both of Tinsley, Ky.,two sisters Mrs. Millie Mills and Mrs. Aixe Bargo both of Mills Ky. ,two brothers Mr. Victor Mills and Mr. Lloyd Mills of Mills, Ky. also 39 grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.

The funeral services were at the Greasy Creek Baptist Church, Friday November 21st at 2pm. with the Rev. Leroy Carnes and the Rev. Bill Poore officating.Interment was in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. The Durham Funeral Home in charge.

PINEVILLE — Elbert "Eb" Bailey, 67, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1940, in Bell Co., a son of the late Pete and Ada Mills Bailey. He was president of the Bell County Farm Bureau.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Lee Bailey; brothers, Raymond, Walter, and John Bailey; sisters, Creasie Mills, Dora Warren, and Louise Reed.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Bailey, Pineville; daughter, Machelle (Darrell) Van Winkle Knoxville, Tenn.; grandson, Christopher Shane (Jessica) Evans, Knoxville, Tenn.; great-grandson, Laken Scoff Evans, Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers, Bill (Tamara) Bailey, Pineville, and Ray (Virgie) Bailey, Arjay; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.Y. Mills presiding.
Interment will be in the Bailey Family Cemetery on Highway 92. Pallbearers will be Darrell Van Winkle, Shane Evans, Danny Bailey, Gene Gambrell, Joe Steely, and Bill Terrell Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Dixon, Danny Luttrell, Joe Stamper, Jerry Baker, and Bell County Farm Bureau Board Members.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.

She was born July 31, 1931, in Knox County, Ky., a daughter of the late Boad Baker and Nannie Baker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bailey; infant daughter, Ruby Bailey; sisters, Ruby Goodin and Agnes Alons; brothers, Billy Baker, Guy Carpenter, ; sister and brother-in-laws, Fred Warren, Floyd Warren, Raymond Bailey, Walter Bailey, and Taylor and Creasie Mills, James Webb
Left to mourn her passing are the following members of her family: her children, who will mourn their truly great mother, Dan and Betty Jane Bailey, Nannie Allen, Tutty and John Henry Holland, Jenny and Richard Dunn, John Bailey Jr., and Melissa and David Sowders; her siblings, Pauline Warren, Thelma Webb, Jim and Jean Baker, Charlie and Judy Baker, Bernie Alons, Virgie Carpenter, Lucy Harbin; her in-laws, Dora Warren, Bill and Tamara Bailey, Elbert and Janice Bailey, Louise and Russell Reed, Ray and Virgie Bailey, Nina Bailey, and Boyd Goodin. Born April 8, 1972, he was the son of Kenneth Bailey and Ella Miller Bailey. He believed in the Baptist faith. A 1990 graduate of Pineville High School, he worked for SF&S Mining of Bell County Coal.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah and Virginia Miller; niece, Jennifer Miller; brother-in-law, Johnny Miller; uncles, Leonard Taylor, Noah Thomas Miller Jr.; and Rosa "Big Mama" Brock.

ARJAY - John Bailey, 79, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. Born Nov. 28, 1926, in Blanche, Ky., he was the son of the late Pete and Ada Bailey. A retired surface and underground miner, he was also a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the UMWA and Riverside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby; brothers, Raymond and Walter Bailey; sister, Creasie Mills; sisters-in-law, Ruby Goodin and Agnes Alons; brothers-in-law, Guy Carpenter, Billy Baker, Taylor Mills, James Webb, Floyd Warren, and Fred Warren.

Baker Kitty Sue Dunn

Pineville - Kitty Sue Dunn Baker, 46 went home to be with Jesus on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born in Pineville on Aug. 23, 1959, the daughter of Gaye Hester Posey Dunn and the late Johnny Ira Dunn. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended services at both Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church and New Life House of Prayer in Middlesboro. She had been a homemaker.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mattie Louise Rhodes, brothers, Ray Honeycutt and John Oren Dunn and nephews, James Wendell Mills and Fred Ira Dunn, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Baker of Pineville; son, James Smith of Middlesboro; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Smith and Johnny Ira Smith of Middlesboro; her mother, Gaye Hester Dunn; step-son and his wife, Travis and Jennifer Baker of Pineville; step-granddaughter, Hannah; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Faye and Orville Alford of Pineville, Frances and Roger Sharp, Sandra and Ted Fuson, James Noah and Karen Dunn, and the Rev. He was born in Dewitt, Ky., on April 24, 1937, the son of the late Richard and Dora Reynolds Beverly. He was a retired coal miner of 30 years and a member of the Arjay Pentecostal Church of God, of the Holiness Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Flem Beverly; her mother, Gertrude Smith; a brother, Gene King; and a grandson, Hershel David Lawson.

BRODHEAD, Ky. - Doxie Lorene Brock Blanton, 91, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 at her home.
Born July 25, 1915, in Lincoln County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Brock and Nora Lefevers Brock. She was of the Holiness faith, a housewife, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, sewing and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carsel Blanton; two children, Roy Lee Blanton and Shirley Blanton Burton; three grandchildren, Jerry Lee Cash, Bryan David Blanton and Melissa Jolene Sebree Kellar; five brothers, John, Ben, Denver, Ernest and Walter Brock; five sisters, Roxie Bowling, Vina Benge, Virgie Spoonamore, and infant sisters, Shirley and Myrtle Brock; and two great-great-grandchildren.

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Dorothy Evans Brewer, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Middlesboro ARH.

Born May 27, 1928, in Chenoa, a daughter of the late Robert and Elsie Evans. She spent her life as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother along side her devoted husband Orville Brewer in Virginia and Tennessee. She was a member of Shawanee Baptist Church.A kind and loving person to all, she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Orville Doyle Brewer; sister, Helen Miracle; son-in-law, Don Moreland, and great-granddaughter, Afton Tara Sanders.

He retired after 31 years at General Motors, where he worked in the paint department. He was born in Bell County on May 18, 1937 the son of the late Dewey and Martha Jane Saylor Brock. He was a believer in the Holiness Faith and had been a construction lineman for Gambrel Construction and Hoskins Construction Companies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special friend, Wanda Faye Lefevers; step-mother, Chloe Taylor Brock; brother, Walter Brock; sisters, Gladys Brock and Katherine Neal.

Brock  Janet Elaine Tolliver

Janet Elaine Tolliver Brock, age 34, of Speedwell, was born October 3, 1970 and passed away August 29, 2005 at her home.
Janet was attending Pump Springs Baptist Church. She taught computers at Powell Valley Elementary School, starting in her second year. She worked at Mike Campbell Insurance Agency for 10 years and for Rudy Clark Insurance Agency for a number of years. She was pursuing her Masters Degree at Lincoln Memorial University. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Matthew Newt and Hassie (Weaver) Tolliver; Clay and Eva (Bean) Leach.
She is survived by her husband: Jamie Scott Brock; sons: Jonah Clay Brock and Jarrett Camden Brock; parents: J.D. and Fayetta Tolliver; brother and sister-in-law: Jeffrey D. and Melanie Tolliver; sister and brother-in-law: Judy (Tolliver) and Michael Miller; nephew: D.J. Tolliver; nieces: Miranda Miller, Tamara Miller, Brianna Tolliver, all of Speedwell, Morgan Hendrickson and Madison Lefevers both of Pineville, Ky; father-in-law: Millard Brock; mother-in-law: Helen Brock; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Julie and Scott Lefevers all of Pineville, Ky; special friends: Tammy Russell and Krissy Carroll; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Pineville Sun, August 21, 2003 JONATHON BROCK Jonathon Brock, 69, of St. Creek, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Cold Iron on January 4, 1934 son of the late Joseph and Lucy Saylor Brock. He had been a grader for a Lumber Company. In addition to his prents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Zola and Judy Brock and brothers, Dewey and Arvel Brock and grandparents, Jonathon and Judy Wilson Brock. He was a beloved brother of his sisters and their husbands, Phronia and Paul Parker of Pineville, Oma and Fred Helton of Kettle Island, Vina Smith of Straight Creek, Mary and Garner Middleton of Barbourville and Alice and McArthur Mills of Straight Creek and a host of nieces and nephews. Services were Saturday at the Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle with Rev. Danny Daniels, Rev. Bobby Grubbs and Rev. Herman Denny. Music was by the church. Burial was in Salt Trace Cemetery at Middlefork. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were all of his many friends. Brock Kathryn

79, of Fort Wayne, IN., died July 9 at her home in Fort Wayne. Born in Kettle Island, KY., she moved to Fort Wayne in 1954. She was the widow of the late Fred Brock who died in 1986 and the daughter of the late Ben & Roxie Howard. Survivors include: three daughters, Monia Defevers of Pineville, KY., Wanda L. Vinson of Marion, IN., Brenda G. Limrag, Fort Wayne, IN; three sons, Clyde D. Brock, Fort Wayne, IN., James R. Brock, Fort Wayne, IN., Oliver W. Brock of MO; two brothers, Gabe Howard and Homer Howard of Pineville; four sisters, Thronia Lefevers, Evelyn Howard, and Ora Brock all of KY, and Carrie Johnson of IN. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ben Harrison Brock and Junior Dilliard Brock. She had 34 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Services were Tuesday at the D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, IN. Burial was at the Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Brock  Mary

age 90, a resident of (Laurel Hill), Pineville, Ky., died Sunday,
January 8, 1989 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born June 24, 1898 in Bell County, Ky., the daughter of the late Tom BROCK and Minnie Jane BROCK. She was joined in holy matrimony in January of 1914 at Straight Creek, Ky., to Victor BROCK, son of David and Elizabeth BURNS BROCK. She was a member of the Bird Branch Missionary Baptist Church for over 43 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, two sons, Victor, Jr., and Lindsay BROCK. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Margie JACKSON, Robert BROCK, Otis BROCK, Mrs. Betty JACKSON, Mrs. Mae GREENE, all of Pineville, Ky., Mrs. Myrtle NUSS Botkins, Ohio, Vernon BROCK, Scottsville, Ky.; one brother, McKinley BROCK, Covington, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel CROUCHE, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Ellen BOWLIN, LaFollette, Tenn.; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-three great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 1989 at the Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Ceph LAWSON and James POLLY. Burial followed in the Jackson Cemetery (Laurel Hill), Pineville, Ky. Brock Richard

Bledsoe, Ky, 80, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Hyden, Ky. He was born Feb. 25,1921, in Leslie County, Ky., a son of the late Will Brock and Belle Brock. He believed in the Pentecostal faith, and had been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Brock; and a host of brothers and sisters. Survivors include his five sons, Fred Brock, Annville, Ky., Rev. Walter Brock, Harrogate, Tenn., Chuck Brock, Harlan, Ky., Matt Brock, Bledsoe, and Chester Brock, Danville, Ky.; one daughter, Carolyn Kline, Harlan; one brother, A.M. Brock, Leslie County; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday at New Ferndale Pentecostal Church with the Rev. John Pew and Mitch Elliott presiding. Music will be provided by the church singers. Burial willbe in Rye Cove Cemetery, Leslie County, Ky. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Brock Will

Pineville - Will Brock, 74, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at the Pineville Community Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Bell County, he was born on Aug. 6, 1932, at Stoney Fork, a son of the late James Scott and Elizabeth Caldwell Brock. He was a member of the Trinity Pentecostal Lighthouse, was very active with Bell Masonic Lodge 691 where he was a past master, the Olieka Shrine Temple in Lexington, was a two time Kentucky Colonel and had retired from Cypress Coal Company at their Bailey Hill Mine on Mountain Drive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lynn Brock; brothers, Millard, Ralph, Robert, and Bruce Brock; and sisters, Rachel and Dora Brock.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Brock whom he married on June 4, 1955; daughters, Teresa and Danny Wilder of Pineville, Rhonda and Sam Ridley of Pineville and Stacy and Edwina Brock of Miracle; grandchildren, Marissa Newby, Ian Newby, Tabitha DeBusk, Jordan Jennings, Eric Brock and Autumn Brock; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Reed and Janet Brock, Grover Brock, Colson Brock, Mary Bullins, and Irene Brock all of Pineville, Laura Bingham of Middlesboro, Bertha and Charles Hunter, Cuba and Jesse Phipps, and Helen and Bobby Hunter, all of Clear Creek, Gladys and Daniel Jackson of Arjay and Katherine and Bill Cavin of Oakwood, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Lowe. the Rev. George Neal and the Rev. Hubert Baker presiding.
Burial will be in the Brock and Burnett Cemetery at East Pineville. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Mrs. Betty Shirley Broughton, age 61 of Flat Lick, Ky. passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the wife of J.M. Broughton and was the daughter of Jackie Bays and Cora (Cook) Bays born to them on January 18, 1946 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Broughton was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, Matt Andrew Mills and one sister, Judy Posey. Survivors include:  Her husband of thirty-eight years, J.M. Broughton of Flat Lick, one son, David Hensley and wife Margaret of Barbourville, Ky., four daughters, Billie Mills and husband Andy of Stinking Creek, Mary Cox and husband Delbert of Pineville, Ky., Betty Broughton and husband Earl and Renee' Wynn and husband Ben all of Flat Lick, Ky., five brothers, Jackie Bays and wife Maggie of Heidrick, Ky. Earl Bays and wife Louise of Keavy, Robin Bays of Pineville, Tim Bays and wife Julie of Lexington and James Bays and wife Nevaline of London, KY., five sisters, Viola Bays and husband Henry of Gray, Ky., Thelma Simpson of Fourmile, Louise Hubbard and husband Woodrow of London, Ky., Abby Foley and husband George, Melva Broughton and husband Lonnie all of Barbourville, and Kathy Gray and husband Nick of Barbourville. ARJAY - William Brummett, 84, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at his home.
Born Jan. 22, 1923, at Red Bird, he was the son of the late Rufus Brummett and Martha Brock Brummett. He was a coal miner, and a member of Arjay Community Pentecostal Church.

Burns James Baker

72, Kenvir, died Oct. 5, 2006, at Harlan ARH Hospital.
A native of Bell County, Burns had lived here most of his life. He was a retired coal miner with Bow Valley Coal Resources with 32 years experience. Burns was a member of the Brittains Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Burns and Mary Malicoat Burns; three brothers: Fess, Gene and Cecil Burns; and three sisters: Omalee Shelton, Trula Widner and Bobbie Napier.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pauline Gilley Burns, Kenvir; three children: Gail Smith and husband, Rick, Kenvir; Jimmy Burns and wife, Nancy, Kenvir; and Sammy Burns and wife, Sylvia, Kenvir; one sister, Wilma Luttrell, Red Bud; seven grandchildren: Resa Fleenor; Chrissy Whitehead and husband, Jeffrey; Lil' Rick Smith; Robin Sanders and husband, Jason; Tamera Burns; Whitney Burns; and Brianna Burns; five great-grandchildren: Kayla Moore, Jake Fleenor, Caleb Whitehead, Alex Sanders and Lacey Sanders; a special cousin, George Miller and wife, Naomi, Kenvir; and two very special friends: the Rev. Burns Willian

William "Duke" Burns, 71, of Lynch passed away Sunday Aug. 17, 2008 at his home following a long illness.

He was a native of Lynch. He retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years service and believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, France and Nell White Burns.

Survivors include three cousins, Betty Mays, Lynch; Sam and Ronnie Burns of Florida.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland with Pastor Hugh Webb officiating.

Military Rites will be conducted at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 5171 of Cumberland.

There will be no visitation.

Bush Fred H.

PINEVILLE — Fred H. "Brother" Bush, 88, of Pineville, died February 18, 2008, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Ky. He was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Kettle Island, Ky., the third of four children to Fred and Phoebe Howard Bush. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Elmer V. (Mertle) Bush and Harry C. Bush.
Fred served as a bomber pilot in both WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Fred is survived by a sister, Ada Lee (Joe) Smith, his wife, Florence Roe "Pokie" Wilson Bush, his children, F. Howard (Marilyn) Bush Jr., Harry C. (Louise) Bush, and Deborah W. (Joe) Fritsch, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, Ky.
