Obituary of William L. Auxer

William L. Auxer was the great-grand-nephew of my great-great-great grandfather, Philip Kleis Auxer. The Auxers lived on one side of the Susquehanna; Philip's family on the other. William was born in Lancaster County and died in Harrisburg, as did Philip. This copy of his obituary appeared in The Patriot, on Saturday, October 11, 1975:

WILLIAM L. AUXER

William L. Auxer, 63, of 1037 Walnut St., Lemoyne, died Friday at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was chief engineer at Harrisburg Area Community College, a member of the Church of the Good Shepard and the Holy Name Society of the church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia L. Auxer; a son, William L., Jr., of King of Prussia; a daughter, Mrs. I. Barry Snoke, of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Hess, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Eber K. Coleman, Sr., of Camp Hill; a brother, Frank Auxer, of Huntsville, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepard with the Rev. Paul C. Helwig officiating as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at 1903 Market St., Camp HIll, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
