Rhoda Morris was maried to Squire Felix Bowman in Owsley County, Kentucky. She was the great-great-great-grandmother of my children. Her obituary was found for me by the staff of the Rockcastle County Library in Kentucky. It was probably taken from the Mt. Vernon Signal. Rhoda died 9 March 1907 and the obituary is as follows:
DEAD - Mrs. Rhoda Bowman, aged 87, died Saturday a 5 o'clock p.m. at the home of her son, Mr. I.A. Bowman. For eleven years she has been an invalid, confined to her bed most all the time, but a short time since, she took a deep seat of cold, followed by the grip which was too great a strain on her weakened condition. Ever since the death of her husband several years ago, she had made her home with her only son, Mr. I.A. Bowman, one of our most substantial farmers and stock dealers, who moved to the old Dr. Joplin property near this place five years ago, from Jackson county. It was the desire of the family to take the remains back to the old home for burial, but on account of high water, it was imposible to do so, and the remains were laid to rest Sunday in the Lair burying grounds.
Note: Her grave was found in Rose Hill Cemetery, not the Lair Buring grounds. She must have been moved at a later date.
