Marie I. Auxer, was married to my father's 4th cousin, Washington F. Auxer. Auxer and my father were born exactly 2 weeks apart, with my father being the eldest. (Just a piece of trivia I found interesting!) Her obituary appeared in The Phoenix, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, March 3, 1998.

retired nurseEast Coventry - Marie I. (Brobst) Auxer, 85, wife of the late F. Washington Auxer of Pottstown, formerly of the M. Irene Boyer Home in Pottstown, died Monday at her neice's home in East Coventry.
Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Katie (Reppert) Brobst.
She lived most of her life in the Pottstown area and worked as a nurse for 40 years, working at various hospitals and nursing homes until retiring.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in South Pottstown.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy, wife of David Harner of Bally; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and a sister, Louise, wife of the late George S. Haas of Pottstown.
She was preceded in eath by three siters, Grace Kehl, Anna Emore and Iva Stofflet; and two brothers, Ray and Wayne Brobst.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, Farmington Avenue, Pottstown, with the Rev. Susan Folks officiating.
Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park.
Friends may call Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to St. John's Lutheran Church, South Main Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464, or the Montgomery County SPCA, Little and Swisford Road, Perkiomenville, Pa. 18074.
