Jerome was my g-g-grandfather's step-brother. He was the third child born to Joseph Britton and Mary Hyle Carvell. A large number of his descendents still remain in the Juniata County area today.
This obituary was taken from the Juniata Tribune, Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Thursday, December 17, 1925:
Jerome Carvell died at his home about 1 mile east of Niemond's Church, Tuesday, December 8, aged 73 years.He is survived by one son, William C. Carvell, at home, and six grandchildren. Also by one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Bolton, and six brothers, cyrus, Thomas, Elmer, William, Charles and Joseph. His wife died about two months ago. Funeral services were held Saturday. Interment was made at Richfield.
