Jane Swartz married Jerome Carvell in 1875. She preceded him in death by a little over one month. They are both buried in Richfield Cemetery, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
The following obituary was taken from the Juniata Tribune, Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Thursday, November 12, 1925:
Mrs. Jerome Carvell passed away at her home in Monroe Township, on Sunday, November 1, after an illness of two years, due to a stroke of paralysis. She is survived by her husband, who because of sickness, could not attend the funeral; one son, of Steelton; and one foster-daughter, Mrs. Elmer Reichenbach, of Sunbury; and seven grandchildren.Services were held from her late home and in the United Brethren Church, Richfield, Wednesday, November 4th, by her pastor, J.P. Rauch. Interment was made in the Richfield Cemetery.
