Obituary of Frederick A. Albright

Frederick A. Albright was married to Catharine Auxer, daughter of Jacob and Sarah Ward Auxer. His obituary appeared in the The Lancaster Intelligencer on August 5, 1892. It reads:

DEATH OF FRED. A. ALBRIGHT.

A Well Known Citizen, Who Was In Business Here Many Years.

Frederick A. Albright died at his residence, No. 337 West King stret, (sic) on Thursday night about 11 o'clock. His death was due in a great measure from an attack of the grip last winter, as he was very sick at the time and never recovered. He was in his seventy-first year, and was born in this city and always resided here. His father was Anthony Albright, who was well known in this city. He died when Frederick was twelve years of age. He worked for a number of years for John F. Steinman, in the hardware store, after which he started baking at No. 322 West King street and carried on business at this place for 20 years, after which he turned the business over to his son, W.F. Albright, who has had charge ever since. Those who survive him are his son, W.F. Albright, and a daughter, Mrs. Valentine Workheiser. He has been a lifelong member of the Moravian church, and always took an active interest in its affairs. He for a number of years was a member of city councils. The first newspaper and almanac ever printed in Lancaster was by his grandfather, John Albright, who came here from Westphalia. The latter's business was carried on where the opera house now stands, on North Prince street.
