Obituary of Thomas Crosson

Thomas Crosson was the husband of Lyddian Carvell Crosson. Lyddian was the sister of Jeremiah Mark Carvell, my great-great-grandfather. Lydian died March 9, 1911, Thomas died September 4, 1914. They are both buried in Delaware Twp, at the Otterbein Methodist Church in East Salem.

From Democrat Sentinel, Lewistown, Pennsylvania, September 4, 1914:

Thomas Crosson, aged 72 years, 6 months and 25 days, passed away this morning at 12:55 o'clock at his home at Granville. Several years ago he suffered a sunstroke which left him in failing health. Yesterday afternoon he was stricken with a paralytic stroke and the end came rapidly. His wife whose maiden name was Lydia Carvell, died four years ago and the following children are living: Harry W. Crosson of McVeytown; Victor E. Crosson of Harrisburg; Charles Crosson of Brazil, N.D.; Thurman crosson, at home; and Mrs. Elmer E. (Minnie) Dimm, of Shamokin. A sister, Mrs. Jane Miller, resides in Philadelphia. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church his entire life. The funeral services will be held Monday in the Methodist Church at Granville, Rev. C.J. Mattern of McVeytown, officiating. The body will be taken in the train leaving Granville at 12:07 P.M. Monday to East Salem, Penna., where interment will be made.
