• issued 10 May 1787 - William Padfield and Mary Tadlock

  With the help of Renaee and Don, here is a transcription of William and Mary Padfield's license:
  
  "John Tadlock Esqr. and William Padfield
  Bound to his excellancy John Sevier Esqr. and his successors in office in
  the sum of five hundred pounds specie to be void on consideration of (where)
  for the just cause or lawful inpediment to a ? the marriage of William
  Padfield to Mary Tadlock given under their hands and seal the tenth day of
  May-Anno Dom 1787

  J.P. Dan Kenedy C.C. John Tadlock-seal"
  
  Specie is money back at this time. There is a mark above Dan. Kenedy that
  Don nor I could figure out what it meant.? Sorry.
