LINCOLN COUNTY MYSTERIES--ARE THESE YOUR RELATIVES?
UNIDENTIFIED PHOTOGRAPHS
I purchased these photographs on ebay when it became apparent no one else was going to. I'm hoping someone will recognize and claim them as their ancestors! You may contact me (a link to my email is at the bottom of the page) with information or to claim these photographs. All are in very good shape and deserve a good home!
Photo of a child
This is a photo of what appears to be a small boy in a christening gown. The photo was taken by "Phegley & Strout, Lincoln, Kan." George Phegley was a photographer in Lincoln from 1911 until his death in 1942.
This photo has no studio marking of any kind but was purchased with Nos. 1, 3 and 4.

This is a photo of four children. The back is stamped "U.S. & G.L. Davis, Lincoln, Kas". I do not have dates on when the Davises ran a photography studio.
This photo is owned by Cheryl Lepisto, who wonders if anyone recognizes either of the women.
This photo is also owned by Cheryl Lepisto, who wonders if anyone is related to Mattie. If you know more about Mattie, you can contact Tracee through the link below and she'll help put you in touch with Cheryl.
This photo could have been taken in town or in the country. The photo was taken by Hutchinson, whose studio was in business from 1888 to 1906.
This photo was taken by U.S. Davis, who left Lincoln in 1888.
Another portrait by Hutchison (1888-1906).
Yet another Hutchison portrait.
This photo was taken by W.A. White of Wilson, Kas. It could certainly be of someone from Wilson but also could be a Sylvan Grove subject.
This photo was taken by Hutchison. I have an identical photo of my great-grandparents (same chair!) and they were married in the late 1890s so I think this was probably taken around the turn of the century.
