Cemeteries of
Lincoln County, Kansas

There are 32 named cemeteries in Lincoln County,
ranging from unfenced, unmarked graveyards such as Shady Bend and Trail Creek
to large city cemeteries in Lincoln and Barnard.

There are also abandoned homestead burial grounds,
many more than we know of, or probably ever will.

One of those, the Simmons family lot, is on this list because it has received much attention and includes two -- at least -- veterans among its burials.

Other plots are located in pastures, on private land.
And there are also several people buried at the site of the old County Poor Farm. That site has been protected from encroachment by the Jeffers family. I believe there are 10 or 11 people buried there.
