The BRADLEY Family owned several coal mines in Staffordshire and Worcestershire, England around the 1870's and 1880's. Tividale Hall at Tipton, Bradley Hall at Oldbury, Shut End at Dudley are a few mines believed to have been owned by my BRADLEY's.
All my BRADLEY's came from around Dudley, Worcester, England. My line starts with one couple, John and Mary, and finishes (in England) with one couple, Charles and Phoebe. Sounds confusing ? They were related, I'll explain. The oldest BRADLEY parents I have (so far) are John BRADLEY and Mary (unknown). John was born about 1770 in Worcester, England. I actually have 3 possible births for John. 1768, 1769 & 1775. (although the last is less likely). John and Mary had nine (9) children, and all were born in Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, England between 1794 and 1811. John and Mary's 4th child, Edward (born 1800), married Phoebe JUKES 23 Sep 1821 at Saint Peter Or Collegiate, Wolverhampton, Stafford, England. (Phoebe was born 1800 Sedgley, Stafford).
John and Mary's 9th (and last) child, Simeon married Mary MOUNTFORD 28 Feb 1837 at Edgbaston, Warwick, England. (Mary was born in Worcester about 1812-1815.)
Charles Edwin BRADLEY and Phoebe Ann BRADLEY had seven (7) children between 1871 and 1880. Dwelling: Tividale Hall Census Place: Rowley Regis, Stafford, England

Charles Edwin BRADLEY and Phoebe Ann BRADLEY - my great great grandparents - left England about 1888, as there had apparently been a fire in the mines, and whether they had lost everything and it wasn't worth starting again, they came out to Australia to make a fresh start. Charles and Phoebe's youngest child, William Albert (Bert) was my great grandfather. Bert married Rosie Hilda KETLEY in 1905. Bert worked for Dunlop-Perdriau's from 1893 until his retirement in August 1945. (See his VALE). During that time, he helped develope many rubber products including a portable rubber bath that was used during the war to treat soldiers suffering from such things as phosperous burns.
