Eve HINKLE[3] died in 1826 in Yount, Missouri.  Name of Joshua's wife given in various records as Phillip Miller's  daughter, Eve Hinkle, Caroline Fitch. Bible record of her son Abraham    gives her name as Eve. No evidence of a maiden name in official  records. GRD lists Elizabeth Henkel as mother of Abraham b. 15 Mar  1786. IGI lists birth of Abraham 15 Mar. 1786 and John 24 Jun. 1794  to Elizabeh Henkel and Joshua Hahn of Lincoln County, N.C. Elizabeth and Eva are assumed to be the same person.  Joshua HAHN and Eve HINKLE had the following children:

5.  Magdalene HAHN[21]^,[22],[23] (Joshua-1) was born on 3 Jul 1791 in Lincoln (Catawba County), North Carolina.  She died on 3 Jul 1861 in Mo..  From a History of Southeast Missouri, 1955: Mary Hahn and John Yount "were married in the Old North State and removed to Cape Girardeau Co. in 1803, just too late to take up land junder the Spanish land grant. However they settled on a piece of heavy timbered land, which is now in Bollinger Col, and cleared eighty acres on which they resided until their deaths. They were the parents of ten children.

She was age 13 when they married. They moved to Texas.  Margaret BRYANT[27] was born about 1823 in Greene Co., Ill.  Margaret was about 13 years old when she married Joshua.  Joshua HAHN Jr. and Margaret BRYANT had the following children:

There is no marker for Fanny but it is assumed  she is buried there, as are her parents, Daniel K. and Elizabeth Hahn   Smith.

 

On the 1860 census for German township, Bollinger County, MO, is an enumeration for David, Francis and Matilda Hahn. Estimated birth year for David and Frances is 1804. Is this the same family? If so, Matilda must be their daughter.

 

David (4) HAHN and Fanny SMITH were married before 1825.  Fanny SMITH[53]^,[54],[55] (daughter of Daniel K. (Schmidt) SMITH and Elizabeth  (1) HAHN) was born in 1803 in Lincoln (Catawba County), North Carolina.  David and some children have tombstones in Holt Cemetery near Scopus In Bollinger Co., MO. There is no marker for Fanny, but it is assumed she is buried there. Her parents Daniel K. and Elizabeth Harm Smith are buried there too. There are records in Bollinger Co., MO, proving David was son of Joshua and Eve Hahn.

13.  Absalom (Solomon) HAHN[57] (Abraham-2, Joshua-1) was born on 6 Jun 1817.  Solomon is not mentioned in the family Bible as having died young. Neither is he mentioned in any other family record.

 

Records of wife and children are not documented but could be part of the information sent by Betty Ilene Ramsey, now deceased.

From Laura Cooper, lcooper@@startext.net:"Rev. William Jaret Simmons, son of John Simmons (vet. of War of 1812,    Battle of New Orleans) and Naomi Jaret, was born in Jackson, Co., TN  28 Feb. 1819. He moved to MO from Tennessee sometime before 22 Mar.  1842, the date of his marriage ot Susanna Hahn. (Note the discrepancy  in the marriage date.) He was a pioneer Methodist preacher of the  Circuit Rider days and was also a blacksmith, farmer and cabinet  maker. Susannah died either in Missouri or Arkansas between July 1865 when her youngest child was born and 1868 when William Jaret Simmons  remarried. They were in Wright Co., MO in late 1858 when their oldest    child married there. Sometime after that, the family moved to  Arkansas (with or without Susannah) and lived in severla different  areas of the state. William's and Susannah's daughter, Naomi, my ancestor, moved to Fairfield, Freestone, TX with relatives before 4  Oct. 1865, the date of her marriage to William Lemuel Horn."

“Henry Sebaugh was born in Bollinger County and his parents, who were among the very earliest settlers of Bollinger County, were natives of North Carolina. Henry grew to manhood on a farm in his native county, was married there and passed his last days, his death occurring in 1876. His widow is still a esident of Bollinger County. Joshua Seabaugh was reared in Bollinger County and made his home with his parents until his marriage March 13, 1878 to Miss Minerva J. Presnell, a native of Perry County and daughter of Esau Presnell, a complete sketch of whom is found elsewhere in these pages. By this union Mr. and Mrs. Sebaugh became the parents of four children: Charles, Edward, Curtis and Albert. After marriage Mr. Sebaugh moved to Cape Girardeau County and there resided until coming to St. Francois County in 1883. He then purchased 220 acres of land in Liberty Township and now resides on that property. He has about 80 acres under cultivation and the rest in timber. Mr. Sebaugh is a thorough-going wide-awake farmer and divides his time between arming and stock raising. He and Mrs. Sebaugh are members of the Christian Church.”

Joshua Hahn bought 120 acres 3 January 1856, 191.51 acres 10 March 1857 and 200.5 acres 1 January 1859, all in Jackson, MO. It is uncertain if this is the same Joshua Hahn, as there is another who married Susannah on a different date in Cape Girardeau Co.

 

Joshua HAHN and Susan BESS were married on 29 Aug 1850.  Susan BESS was born on 27 Dec 1828 in Perry Co., Missouri.[104]  She died on 30 Jun 1921 in Perry Co., Missouri.[105]  Joshua HAHN and Susan BESS had the following children:

The birth date of Charles Hahn may be in error; Sarah didn't marry Benjamin until 1878. It's possible he was son of Elvira but not listed in records.  Lafayette HAHN and Sarah DOLLAR had the following children:

Mo.  Frederick SHELL (son of Sarah EAKER and David SHELL) was born on 13 Oct 1834.  He died on 4 May 1880 in Bollinger County, Missouri.  Marital status: M  Frederick was a twin to Catherine Shell, who married DAvid Lutes, son    of Jacob and Sophia Lorance Lutes.

Marion Levi Green family history shows John Hahn born 27 Sept. 1827 in Cape Girardeau. Studying censuses adds to the confusion: there are at least 3 John and Susan Hahns living in Missouri in the 1800s.

 

John Jr. HAHN and Susan WELKER were married on 29 Aug 1850 in Perry Co., Missouri.  Susan WELKER[143] was born on 31 Mar 1827 in Cape Girardeau Co, Missouri.  She died on 15 Sep 1895 in Missouri.

 

 

45.  Mary BOLLINGER[144] (Susannah  (2) HAHN-2, Joshua-1) was born on 31 Aug 1820.  She was also known as Mary "Polly" BOLLINGER.  Another reference has him as Solomon Absalom Hahn

Abner Terril Womack was born April 23, 1830 in Jackson county, AL, and died 1902 in St. Francois County, MO. He was a son of William Womack and Sarah McBee. He married (1) Lucinda Hahn May 03, 1849 in Perry County, MO, daughter of Christian Hahn and Elizabeth Grounds. She was born 1827 in Perry County, MO. He married (2) Mary Ann Pirtle February 07, 1865 in Perry County, MO, daughter of Isaac Pirtle and Susannah Wilson. She was born November 04, 1837 in Indiana. He married (3) Mary Johnson Aft. 1872.

 

In 1850 William and Sarah were living in Perry County, MO. and Abner and Lucinda were living in Cape Girardeau County next to Lucinda's Uncle John Hahn and Brother Jousha Hahn.

I believe Johnson is Mary A. Johnson, Abner’s third wife.

 

The 1900 St. Francois County Census shows Abner Womack, age 70; Mary A. Womack, Wife, age 62; Daniel W. Womack, son, age 26; Lelia P. Womack, age 21; Ellen M. Womack, age 19.
