Funeral services were held Tuesday, afternoon for John Morgan Book, 84, of Jonesville, a life-long resident of Catahoula Parish. Mr Book died Sunday in a Pineville Hospital.
Rev J O McNair, pastor of the Jonesville First Baptist Church, officiated at services held at the Pease Church. Interment followed in the Pease Cemetery, 20 miles south of Jonesville.
Pallbearers, six grandsons, were Burl T Book, Ferriday; Woodrow E Book, Jonesvile; Charles Book, Jr, Jonesville; Curtis Book, New Era; Laverne Book and W A Book, both of Book, LA.
Surviving are nine children: Arthur, New Era; Charles, Lyn, and Marion, all of Jonesville; Walter, Ellis, and Mrs Nancy Hooter, all of Book; Allen, Simpson; Jasper, Ferriday, and Mrs E R Sandrige, Enterprise, LA.
Also surviving are 70 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

Marion Morgan Book, 58, a lifelong resident of New Era, who died Thursday at Ruston, was buried Friday afternoon at the Plase Cemetery near Book, following services held at the Central Baptist Church of Larto.
The Rev. W. N. Carlin conducted the final rites, with interment under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Serving as pallbearers were six nephews, J. W. Book, W. A. Book, Wilbert Book, Charles Book, Jr., Tilton Book, and T. J. Book.
The deceased, a farmer by occupation, is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kendall of Shreveport, and Mrs. Clarice Arkland of Athens, La.; one son, Orvil Book of Gretna; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hooter of Book, and Mrs. E. R. Sanders of Enterprise, and seven brothers, J. A. and C. B. Book, both of New Era; W. C. and E. B. Book of Book; A. A. and L. R. Book of Jonesville
and J. L. Book of New Orleans; and five grandchildren.

LABADIEVILLE -- Funeral services for Brenda S. LeBlanc, 34, will be at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 23, from St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville.
Burial will be in St. Philomena Cemetery under the direction of Thibodaux Funeral Home of Thibodaux. Visitation is from 8 a.m. in Landry's Funeral Home in Labadieville. She died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998. A native of Westlake, she was a resident of Napoleonville.

in El Dorado, Ark. at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm. today and from noon Sunday. Mr. Book died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of
Sulphur, he had lived in the Sulphur/Lake Charles area more than 50 years. He was a member of Elks Club and the Woodmen of the World. He was also a charter member of Pipefitters Local 106. Survivors include his wife, Margie Planchard Book of Lake Charles; four sons, Fred A. Book Jr. of Lake Charles, George Kent Book of Moss Bluff, Robert Edward Book of Brookfield, Conn., and
William Vincent Book of Glen Gardner, N.J.; one brother, Curtis Carroll Book of Livermore, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Woodland Cemetery in El Dorado, Ark., under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.; and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home. Mrs. Book died at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, in a local hospital.
A native of Corsicana, Texas, she had lived in the Lake Charles-Sulphur area for more than 50 years. She was the owner/operator of Fantastic Beauty Salon for 30 years. She was a
member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Ladies Altar Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and many charity organizations. Survivors include four sons, Fred A. Book Jr. of Lake Charles, George Kent Book of Moss Bluff, Robert Edward Book of Brookfield, Conn. and William Vincent Book of Glen Gardner, N.J.; two brothers, A.J. Planchard of Sulphur and Roy Lynn Planchard of Colorado; three sisters, Louine James, Elaine Nail and Norma Gregory, all of Sulphur;
and nine grandchildren.

John Arthur Book, Jr, 76, a native of New Era and a resident of Gibson, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sampay Book of Gibson; one son, Michael J. Book Sr. and wife, Ola, of Erath; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Doreen) Arceneaux of Lafayette; four brothers, Ray, Shirley and Shelby Book, all of Monterey, and Edmund Book of New Era; four sisters, Artie B. Pecanty, Lovine B. Morace and Catherine B. Parrish, all of Monterey, and Judy Book of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Michael Book Jr., Christopher Arceneaux and Matthew Arceneaux, all of Lafayette, Amy B. McNeeley of Hickory, N.C., and Brandon Trahan of Houma; and two great- grandchildren, Nicholas Book of Lafayette, and Conley McNeeley of Hickory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Book Sr. and Cora Jones Book; five brothers, Tillman, Leroy, Ira, Curtis and George Book; and one grandson, Jeremy Trahan.
He was a retired supervisor for J. Ray McDermott, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, a member of the American Legion, a member of W.O.W. and a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
