Our first Levy to arrive in Nova Scotia was Richard Levy. He was a ship's Captain from Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, and a native of Gravesend, Kent, England. He met Jacob Isenor a merchant in Dartmouth and married his daughter MaryAnn Isenor.

Richard and MaryAnn were married at the Christ Church in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1850. Levy's have been attending this Church since then. The headstones of William Henry Levy's family and Charles Freeman Levy's family and Audrey White are in the Christ Church cemetery.
