WHO AM I ?
My name is Leslie (Les) Brian Warren and my parents are Walter Brian Warren and, Catherine Lucy Christian. I am the eldest of five brothers and two sisters. I enjoy following the progress of my 13 nephews and nieces.
I still a bachelor and currently live and work in a small Waikato town, Morrinsville. This town is near the city of Hamilton.
As well as genealogy being a hobby, my other main interests have been with sports. My main sport for the last 15 odd years has been orienteering but, have spent many younger days playing badminton and tennis. After much of my last 15 years being heavily envolved with orienteering, I am having few quite years.

My New Zealand
Welcome to my HomePage which looks at my New Zealand Ancestry. My interest in genealogy started way back about 1975, when I was planning for my first big OE. With my ancestors coming from Ireland and England and, with some Maori connections, this intrigued me.
This NEW HOMEPAGE includes part of my research, with this site being up-dated as new information comes to hand and, when time permits me to improve this site. I acknowledge that some of this information may be incorrect and, I welcome anyone to contact me with any corrections and, new information. I would like to take this opportunity to greatfully acknowledge the support of my parents and, other living relatives that have supplied the bulk of my information.
research has involved four families and, you are most welcome to
visit any of these family pages. [Just click on a underlined
With my family name WARREN, I only go back to William Warren whom was born in Suffolk, England about 1823. Williams son Walter Warren was our first Warren ancestor to come to New Zealand in 1874.
My mothers family name is CHRISTIAN. Her father, Henry Joseph Christian was our first Christian ancestor to come to New Zealand, about 1913.
My father's, mother was a LAWLOR. She was Catherine Mary Lawlor and she arrived in New Zealand with her sister, Bridget in 1910 from Killahan, County Kerry, Ireland. There eldest sister Hannah, came to New Zealand in 1908. They were the only members of their family to come to New Zealand.
far the biggest family I am researching is my mother's, mothers
family name, WOOD.
I go back to a Thomas Wood born 1786 in London, England.
The family went to Sydney, Australia in 1828. Only one son, William
Wood was our ancestor to come to New Zealand, in 1838.
There is also a William Wood REUNION being planned for Easter 2003, in Wellington.
