My Davies Family The head of this tree, William Davies was born about 1795. His son David Davies was born in 1818 in Merthyr Tydfil in Glamorganshire. Since that time the family has, for the most part, remained centred on the village of Cwmavon in the parish of Michaelston super Avon. In 1841 and 1845, references are made to David as being David David. Sso William could also be William DAVID. The Village of Cwmavon is 1.5 miles north of Port Talbot, It was once the centre of Copper refining, Steel works and Coal mining, but today very little sign of the Industrial glories of the past remain, and it is now a residential area. |
