Leland Hardware Store

This picture was taken for me by George and Elizabeth Hamner.  The building hiding this sign had been torn down and they thought I would enjoy it, they were right.  Did anyone every drink Moerlein Beer?

from The Heritage of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama;  Heritage Publishing Consultants, Inc., PO Box 67, Clanton, AL 35046, 1999.
"The corner of Tuscaloosa Furniture Company's present location at 6th Street and 23rd Avenue, was originally built in 1894 for Leland Hardware."
I believe the business was run by Henry Hume Leland and worked at times by other family members.  My sister remembers Henry's office still being there when she was young.  According to the article in The Heritage of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, it became the Tuscaloosa Furniture Company early in the 20th century so I'm confused. Feel free to fill me in on the history of this business.
