Descendants of Duncan de Carrick

13. Gilbert¹² Kennedy 2nd Earl of Cassillis (David¹¹, John¹⁰, Gilbert⁹, James⁸, Gilbert⁷, John⁶, Gilbert⁵de Carrick, Gilbert⁴, Roland³, Nicol,², Duncan¹) was born circa 1490.⁶² He married Lady Isabel Campbell, daughter of Archibald Campbell, Earl of Argyle, before 1513.⁶³ He died on 22 Dec 1527; slain by Hugh Campbell, Sheriff of Ayr at the instigation of Sir James Hamilton.⁶⁴

He succeeded as 2nd Earl of Cassillis in 1513.⁶⁵ He was a prominent figure in the history of Scotland; Ambassador to England, a Privy-Councillor to James V, concluded truce with the Duke of Norfolk on part of Henry VIII after 1513.⁶⁶

14. James¹² Stewart (Janet¹¹Kennedy, John¹⁰, Gilbert⁹, James⁸, Gilbert⁷, John⁶, Gilbert⁵de Carrick, Gilbert⁴, Roland³, Nicol,², Duncan¹) was born circa 1500 Edinburgh, Mid-Lothian, Scotland.⁷³ He died before 14 Mar 1544 Dyke, Morayshire, Scotland.⁷⁴
