Ella Margaret Leland Faulk

1875-1962

"Aunt Ella was the only one in the family that everyone loved. She never criticized anyone, got along with all the in-laws and had loads of friends from college age up. She was a fabulous cook."

She married Dr. William Mark Faulk, and had Wm. M. Jr. (1905-1907) Margaret Ella, (1907-1940) and Carrie (1908-1915). Dr. Faulk was the Assistant Superindendant at Bryce Mental Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I believe they lived by the Hospital in this home. Margaret Leland Duvic describes it as a "beautiful house with a yard full of flowers." This picture was taken on my visit in 1985 over 20 years since she died.

Dr. & Mrs. Faulk had one daughter, Margaret Faulk who lived to adulthood she was a librarian at the University of Alabama. There is a plaque at the base of a dogwwod tree by the library in her honor.
