BUTZTOWN MAN KILLED AS TRAIN HITS TRUCK ON GRADE CROSSING Orson H. Moser, 62, Victim of Accident at Freemansburg Delivering potatoes to customers in Freemansburg on Thursday afternoon in a truck, Orson H. Moser, aged sixty-two years, of Butztown, was instantly killed at 3:35 o'clock, when he was struck by a New Jersey Central fast freight traveling west at the Madison street grade crossing. The truck was dragged some distance beyond the station, a mass of tangled steel. His body was badly mangled. Moser, who was a well known and highly respected farmer, had delivered some of his product to a customer on Main street, and after bidding goodbye to the purchaser he started his truck to cross the grade. The gates were raised, the watchman having left for the day, and he failed to see the train, which was traveling at a fast clip, until it was too late. Coroner W. Calvin Nickel, of Nazareth, was notified and after an official investigation issued a certificate of accidental death. Later the body was taken in charge by Undertaker Mary E. Brickel, of Bethlehem, who will have charge of the funeral arrangements, which will be announced later. Moser was preceded to the grave by his wife several years ago. The following children survive to mourn his loss: Vernon, of Butztown; Roy, of Macada; Joseph, of Butztown; Carl, of Macada; Mrs. Anna Bean, of Oakland Park; Mrs. Florence Davis, of Phillipsburg, NJ, and Marion, at home. News of his death was learned with sincere and profound regret by his many friends throughout Northampton county. He was a devout and zealous member of the Farmersville church.

Two years ago he fractured his hip and since then has been in failing health, although enduring his affliction with patience. As a young man he united with the Mennonite Church and was a faithful member until death; always filling his place when health permitted. While we miss his presence in the home very keenly we rejoice to have the hope that he has gone to that beautiful land where there are no afflictions, and we are comforted to know that if we are faithful on earth we can again meet him there. "He has gone through the gate to another land, Led by the Master's hand, Where everything is kind and good, Where everything is understood; So we believe that the One above Has taken him home as an act of love." ---A Daughter.

MOYER. - On the 27th of March 1891, in Lincoln Co., Ont., of heart disease John W. Moyer, aged 70 years. Buried at the Mountain church on the 31st, where a large number of relatives and friends assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to a dear brother and friend who was a good example to us all. He leaves a widow (his second wife) and nine children "all grown" to mourn his departure, but they need not mourn as such who have no hope. May God comfort and sustain the bereft ones in their deep affliction.

Services by John F. Rittenhouse and Pre. Canada, from Num. 23: 10.
