Allow Me To Introduce Myself

My name is Fran (Shaw) and I spend as much free time as possible attempting to locate one more elusive soul in my family tree. As often as possible, my road trips are planned around cemetery hopping and dusting off old records.
I began my search in the 1980s looking for my mother's Rogers family. Through the years, I have been lucky enough to meet several cousins from all of my primary family surnames. Some of them I have only worked with online while others I have had a chance to meet in person. It has been a wonderful experience.
I am not a professional genealogist. I do my research out of a desire to preserve the legacy of my ancestry and the sense of adventure I experience as I travel back through the pages of history. So, if you find gaps or errors in the contents of my research pages, please notify me by e-mail and I will be happy to make the edits.
While a great deal of the information found here has been verified by me personally, other pieces have been received through the grapevine. I will be happy to provide any additional information I can regarding the content here but in some instances I am still trying to prove or disprove the facts, too.

The voices of yesteryear speak softly to our hearts
as they gently beckon us through the portals of history.

Our Quest ...

to preserve the legacy of our ancestry
for generations yet to be.

If you know of related websites or resources, please contact me by e-mail and I will be happy to add the information to the website. Check back often... you never know when new resources will be added.

Genealogist's Psalm

Genealogy is my pastime,I shall not stray.
It maketh me  to lie down and examine half-buried tombstones.
It  leadeth me into still courthouses.
It restoreth my  ancestral knowledge.
It leadeth me in paths of census  records and ship's passenger lists for my surname's  sake.
Yea, though I walk through the shadows of research  libraries and microfilm readers, I shall fear no  discouragement for a strong urge is within me, the curiosity and motivation, they comfort me.
It demandeth  preparation of storage space for the acquisiton of  countless document;
It anointest my head with burning  midnight oil;
My family group sheets runneth over.
Surely, birth, marriage and death dates shall follow me  all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in the house of a family-history seeker forever.
