Tip Lefevers
Obit from the Pineville paper 1-25-1945
IN MEMORIUM
-----------
Mr. Tip Lefevers was born March 5, 1868, departed
this life January 13, 1945, being seventy-five years of age. Mr. Lefevers
was born and reared on Straight Creek and operated a grocery store for
a number of years. He was a prominent citizen of our community and his
assistance and influence will be greatly missed.
He was married to Miss Susan Elliot in August,
1889. They had spent fifty-six (56) years of married life together. To
this union was born five children. Two sons, Charlie and Robert have preceeded
him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Lefevers, of Straight
Creek, one son, John Lefevers of Pineville, and two daughters, Mrs. Norma
Dagley of Indiana and Mrs. Lucy Osborne of Pineville, a number of grandchildren
and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing. He was sick only
a few days. Although his suffering was great he bore it with much patience.
He called on his Lord many times, and we know the Lord was with him. He
saw a number of his loved ones who had gone on before, and his last words
in this life were "Lord Take Me Home".
We feel our loss on earth is his eternal gain
in Heaven. While we are sad we know he is happy on Heaven's bright shores.
Sleep on dear father in peace, we loved you
dear, but God loved you more. Just a few more days of worry and this life
will be over. Then we'll be together forever.
A chair in our house is vacant that can't
be filled. A voice we loved is still, but soon we will be together where
partings come no more.
