Alfred Harold Lees was a draftsman in the Lace trade in Nottingham but the trade had been
going down hill and with all the advertisement about Canada where boys would have a chance
to make a good living, Alfred and Gertrude make a momentous decision. They would come to
Canada.

and here they are ready to leave for Canada 1913 - from the oldest to the youngest

Alfred and Gertrude left a big city with a population of about 240,000 with their four children.

The family left Nottingham and traveled to Liverpool and set sail on the Virginian of the Allen Line
on the 4 Jul 1913
