Truesdale, a stage coach driver, got a map of Shandon, San Luis Obispo County, and people started going there from Santa Paula. In about 1884, he along with Columbus Baxter Grainger and George Pfost, moved their families to Shandon. They drove their cattle and carried their family possessions on a wagon. Attributed to "Homesteaders in the Shandon Valley" by LaVista, vol 3, no 1. Parents: Thomas Elmo GRAINGER and Mary ADAMS.

David S GRAY⁽³⁷¹⁵⁾. From Fleming County, Kentucky they moved to Lecompton, Douglas County, Kansas. David was a Justice of Peace and was murdered 6 Jan 1859 along the Kansas River. Mary and children are listed in the 1860 census in Jefferson County, Kansas, living near George W. Gray who was David's brother. After that she returned to Fleming County and married James Denton 1 Sep 1861, as his third wife.
