Children were: Mary DEHART.

bulletEvart DEHAVEN (IN DEN HOFFEN)(2528) (1420) was born in 1655 in Mulheim, Germany. (1320) Evart was born in either France or Germany possibly about 1655. The exact place and date of his birth are unknown. According to Evangelical Church records at Mulheim, Westphalia, Germany, he married Elizabeth Shippbouhr on May 21, 1675. Records of the baptism of some of the children are at the same church and show that the family lived there from 1676 to at least 1688. When Evart and Elizabeth came to America from Mulheim on the Ruhr, in 1698, they settled in Germantown, Pennsylvania and at Whitpaine and Providence Townships in Philadelphia County. Philadelphia County is now a part of Montgomery County. Evart and his sons became naturalized citizens in 1709. Evart became a Ruling Elder in Whitemarsh Reformed Church in Germantown. According to the records of that church, he was ordained on June 4, 1710, the day Whitemarsh Church was organized. He was a yeoman or farmer. Evart died some time after 1728 when his last known legal transaction was made. Elizabeth died later. Both Evart and Elizabeth are buried in the Whitemarsh cemetery. Besides the four children who came to America, there were two sons and a daubhter. The sons apparently died at quite an early age. Both were named Wilhelp; one was the second oldest child, older than Herman and other yhounger than Annacken. The oldest child was Anna Gerdrut. Her name appears in the church baptismal record. Born in 1676, she mayhave been married by 1698 and stayed in Germany. Her name does not appear in other records with the family in America. All the children were born at Mulheim on the Ruhr, Germany.

Pennypacker's book "The Settlement of Germantown" relates on pages 138-139 that "We find among the residents in 1699, Evert In den Hoffen from Muhlheim on the Ruhr, Gerhard, Peter and Anneke, who were doubtless his children, some of whom are buried in the Mennonite graveyard on the Skippack."

He was married to Elizabeth SHIPPBOUHR on 21 May 1675 in Evangelical Church, Mulheim, Westphalia, Germany. Children were: Anna Gerdrut DEHAVEN, Wilhelm DEHAVEN, Herman DEHAVEN, Gerhard DEHAVEN, Annecken DEHAVEN, Wilhelm DEHAVEN, Peter DEHAVEN.

bulletGerhard DEHAVEN(1420) (2557) was born in 1681 in Germany. (1320) He was christened on 5 Dec 1681 in Mulheim on the Ruhr, Germany. He died in 1747 in Skippack Twp, Philadelphia Co, PA. (2557) He was buried in Mennonite Cemetary, Skippack, Montgomery Co, Pa. He owned property with Herman, which was bought from the Van Bebbers, promoters of the Mennonite Settlement on Perkiomen-Skippack Creeks. This property was acquired between 1702 and 1706 and amounted to 440 acres, now located on Route 73 near the center of the Northeast edge of Skippack Township, as it borders Lower Salford Township. By 1706, Gerhard had built the first log house in the development. The stone house is supposed to date from 1720 and a license as an Inn was issued 2 May 1723. The house was enlarged by the owner in 1783 and is now a two story rectangular brownstone with three windows upper and two and a door lowere with a small hood covering the lower entrance. Chimneys are at each end. In this house, the Skippack Reformed Church was founded and Rev. Phillip Boehm came on circuit to hold services. So the DeHavens were not poor. Harmon sold, in 1723, his half of the land to Peter Jansen and moved to Lower Providence near Evansburg, now State Route 422. Gerhard was baptized in Mulheim-an-dur-Ruhr, Westphalia on 5 Dec 1681 and was know to be in Germantown by 1698 and signed list of German Naturalizations ratified 1709.
