Jeffery Pierce DAVIS (Private). Parents: Keagle Wellington DAVIS and Mildred Eleanor MCLAUGHLIN .

John DAVIS⁽²⁰⁶⁷⁾⁽²⁴³⁶⁾ died before 20 Jul 1812 in Nelson Co, Ky. Signed as approving the marriage to Benjamin Coy and indicating that he was Anne's father. Gave substantial amounts of land to each of the children, according to his will written 5 Jul 1801 and probated 20 Jul 1812. His wife was still living at the time of writing. Thomas Roberts and Peter Bell were named Executors. Christopher Beeler, Samuel Miller and James Brown were witnesses of his will. This will is found in Nelson county Will Book C, page 53. On page 76 is described the appraisal of the personal estate of John Davis, deceased by Robert Anderson, Samuel Pottinger and Ahemias Chambers. Page 77 describes the sale of the estate to family members, named as Doffe Davis, Dorothy Davis and John Davis. John Davis Jr. was the administrator on the date 8 August 1812.

In Kentucky Ancestors source, we find that John Sr wrote his will on 20 July 1801 and that is is recorded in Nelson county Will book C-53. His "beloved wife" is not names. Children are named as Thomas Davis, John Davis, Elizabeth Bell, Martha Coy, Ann Coy and Susanna Davis. John and Susanna are the two youngest, Ann is third youngest. Exs., Thos, Roberts, Peter Bell. Witness, Christopher Beeler, John Becler, Samuel Miller and James Brown.

In Perrins' History of Kentucky, we find "John Davis, one of the earliest pioneers in Nelson County, settled near New Haven when the country was in possession of the Indians. Mr. Davis assisted int he construction of the old fort at Goodin Station." This may be where the Coys and Davises met.

Keagle Wellington DAVIS was born on 12 Feb 1912 in Lodi, Cal. He died on 2 May 1961. He was buried in Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno, Ca. Keagle taught high school in Kerman, California and later went into the brokerage business selling grain and cotton. Parents: Clyde Elvin DAVIS and Lulu Edna KEAGLE.

Consent was given by John Davis, father of Nancy Ann Davis. Peter Bell and John Coy were witnesses and they were married by James Rogers. In 1932, she earned her MS degree in Educational Psychology. After two more years of teaching, she married her husband. She received Counseling credentials at Stanford Univerisyt in 1937 and became counselor with Modesto Junior College where whe developed a program for international students.
