Mrs. Emma L. Davidson, or Peru, Indiana, a sister of our townsman, Frank Leebrick, has been elected to the important position of state librarian by the legislature of Indiana. Mrs. Davidson is the widow of an old soldier, who fought in the thirty-ninth Indiana regiment and suffered the tortures of Andersonville. He died twenty years ago and since that time she has taught school at Peru, having trained youth in one building all those years. She has raised two sons in the Republican faith. In 1881 she was a candidate for the same office, and was defeated by only two votes on the fourteenth ballot. Mrs. Davidson will make a popular official. -- January 24, 1895 Osborne County Farmer.
