(John) Casper BUCHER⁽¹²⁸⁵⁾⁽¹⁰⁷⁶⁾ was born in 1733 in Nuenkirch, Canton Schaffhausen, Switzerland.⁽¹²⁸⁶⁾⁽⁵⁴⁰⁾⁽¹²⁸⁷⁾⁽¹²⁸⁸⁾⁽¹²⁸⁹⁾⁽¹²⁹⁰⁾ Neunkirch is 10Km west of Schaffhausen and Neuhausen, om Highway 13, in Canton Schaffhausen. Said to be near the Rhine Falls. He died on 11 Jun 1799 in Lower Paxton township, Dauphin county, Pa.⁽¹²⁸⁶⁾ He was buried in Old Wenrick Church, East of Linglestown, Pa. Described in Notes and Queries, 3rd Series, Volume 1 page 542 as being the "head of a family, more or less prominent, both in the male and female line". He also is described as a minister of the Gospel, and the ancestor of Judge Bucher or Lewisburg, Pa. Casper is further described as being of Paxtang, Pa. just a couple miles east of Harrisburg.

Probably immigrated to the US at Philadelphia in 1750.

According to information provided by Harriet Wallace, Casper Bucher and his brother Conrad came to America from Switzerland. They sailed from Rotterdam on the ship "Royal Union" and landed at Philadelphia, Pa on 15 Aug 1750. She reports that the executors of his estate were his wife Catharina and son Jacob. John Eisenhower, an ancestor of President Dwight D. Eisenhower was a witness to Casper Bucher's will and were neighbors of the Buchers.

Casper Boocher (Bucher) is listed as a tenant to property owned by Bernard Wannemacher in 1762 tax list, Colebrookdale Twp, Berks Co, Pa. It is believed that Bernard Wannemacher had moved by then to Allemagel, Lynn Twp, Northampton County, Pa. Parents: Dieter BUCHER.
