He had an estate probated on 14 Jan 1789 in Lancaster Co, Pa.(7371) Mary Newman Widow and Relict of Daniel Newman deceased and Administratrix of all and singular the Goods and Chattles Rights and Credits which were of the said Daniel Newman late of the Borough of Lancaster Doctor of Physic deceased, produced to the Court the account of her Administration on the Estate of the said deceased duly passed before the Register whierby there appears a balance in the Hands of said Accountant of 49 pounds, 9 shillings, 9 1/2 pence, which account the Court on examination allows and approves of and directs that the said balance after deducting 12 shillings the expenses of theis Court the remainder ammounting to 48 pounds, 17 shillingts, 9 1/2 pence be applied towards the payment of the other Debts of the said deceased. He was buried in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Lancaster Pa.(7372) Daniel Neuman and Henry Small were witnesses at athe wedding of Thomas Smith and Mary Fulton, both widowed persons on 5 Apr 1780 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster.

Daniel and his wife Maria partook of communion on 8 Oct 1780 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster. On Easter, 1783, Daniel, his wife and three unconfirmed children partook of communion. Again at the Festival of Christmas in 1784, Daniel and his wife are listed as taking communion. In the second register of Confirmations and communicants, Daniel Neuman and wife Maria are listed in 1785 and 1786. A note is included that they were living in the Lancaster area.

Daniel was a medical doctor. He was Captain of the 6th Company, 1st Battalion, commanded by Lt. Col Stephen Chambers & Major Frederick Hubley, 1785-1787. See also Pa. Arch., S6 iii 606.

On page 727 of "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" there is listed a Daniel NAUMAN as arriving 13 October 1769 aboard the ship MINERVA from Rotterdam via Portsmouth, England.
