Stephen BACHILOR Reverend was born in 1561 in England. The Reverend Stephen Bachilor graduated from St. John's College in Oxford, England. He came to the United States in 1632. He was described as a man of learning and ingenuity. He was the first minister of a church in Lynn, Massachusettes in 1633. Other churches are Ipswich, Massachusettes (1636), Newbury, Massachusettes (1638). He also established churches in Hampton, New Hampshire (1639), and in Saco, Maine. He returned to England around 1653-1654 and died in 1660 at the age of 99 years at Hackney near London. He was said to have married 4 times and was a the age of 72 fined for unseemly behavior in Boston, Massachusettes. His third wife was branded with an "A" for adultery. he was excommunicated ate age 90 for "unchastity".
