Mahala Ann ASHLOCK⁽⁶⁵⁷⁾. On 23 July Mahala Ann deeded her interest in 50 acres located in the 4th Dis5trict of Overton County to Thomas Ashlock, her brother. This 50 acres was more or less triangular in shape. The north boundary was the Tennessee-Kentucky State line. The western boundary was Stairs Ridge. The estern boundary was the Davis Trace. Acording to a researcher, it has been established that Stairs Ridge is now known as Star Ridge. In all probability, the Davis Trace followed Smith Creek which em;ties into Kettle Creek in Monroe County, Kentucky, a short distance north of the state line. Parents: Jesse ASHLOCK and Anne SCOTT.

He was in the Battle of New Orleans and served for six months. He recieved a pension of $8.00 per month for his service. He requested the pension on 30 Apr 1871 under the act of Feb 14, 1871.
