She was buried in Oct 1802 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, Dauphin Co, Pa.⁽⁴³⁾ She died on 20 Oct 1802.⁽⁴⁴⁶⁸⁾ Valentine was an excellent scrivener and apparently served somewhat as a secretary for his father. He was also the clerk for Captain Jacob Friedle's Company of the 4th Battalion of Lancasater County, the company raised in the vicinity of Hummelstown. Frederick's family was well represented in this company-his sons Valentine, Frederick and David were joined by their brother-in-law Peter Friendle and John Wetherholt who later married Catherine Hummel."

"In 1783, Valentine Hummel lived near Indian Echo Cave, which was described as being behind Valentine Hummel's house. In 1794, Mordecai Lincoln, great-grandfather of Abraham, sold his inn in Hummelstown to Valentine Hummel of Derry Township, innkeeper. Mordecai had purchased the property in 1787 from Peter and Eva Hummel Friedle, valentine's sister and her husband. Parents: Johan Frederick HUMMEL and Rosina KAUFER.
