OLD POST CARD PHOTOGRAPHS
Many photographs were mounted on to a post card. The collections seems to have some such photographs that appear to date from the 1890s to ca 1910 and another group that latter dating from the era of 1910 to the 1920s, many of them being Sepia colored. The photographs on this page are judged to be from the former group which seem to be older. Unfortunately the back of most of these photos do not have any writing.
| Perhaps someone with access to the City directory can help date this study photograph taken at Berghoff's Photo Studio that was located at the corner of Marshall Avenue and Main Street in Gloversville. Who the young man posed in this photograph is I have no idea. Notice the interesting painted backdrop and I would suspect the dog is a prop. Some of the other photographs also used interesting props. |
