CHILDREN - Kenneth Bruce Gratton - 1961
Jennifer Kaye Gratton - 1962
Fiona Leigh Gratton - 1972
MOVED TO - Melton in March 1965 and
have lived in 3 different locations there:-
CAREERS - Janet worked in secretarial
positions, eventually as as secretary for a school
principal. Later she learned about community
radio and until retirement
taught radio broadcasting and production.
Ken worked as a primary school teacher between
1958 and 1978. He then ran a
milk bar for 2 years, then worked for local
government for 7 years and finally
worked as a real estate agent.
HOBBIES & Janet always loved music
and ballet appearing in many stage musicals. She
INTERESTS - is a regular attendee at
the ballet. She is also a voracious reader and loves
her involvement in the community radio station
and church.
Ken’s lifelong interest has been in cars. He
began the local sporting car
club in 1974. He also enjoys reading,
oil
painting and infrequent writing of poetry
and prose.
ACHIEVEMENTS - Janet has brought up
3 wonderful children, kept house very well,
supplemented the family income with various
jobs, studied many diverse
subjects including bible studies, all aspects
of radio broadcasting and has
become extremely computer literate.
Ken became a senior teacher for the Education
Department, promoted Melton
effectively for the local council and was
heavily involved in the
establishment of Mowbray College and the Melton
Motor Sports club.
