BRITTON b 1792 PA, d. 1852, both bd Pioneer Cem, Ft Jefferson OH.
Shown in 1840-1860 census for Neave Twp, Darke Co OH. Their known
children: Mariah b abt 1810 m. Jacob Francis; Lewis b 1812 m. Sally;
Hannah b ca 1819 (see below); Rebecca b 8 Oct 1826 m. Daniel
Hollinger; Benjamin b 1829 m. Rachel?; Susanna b 1833, m. Reuben
Porter.
Gen. 2: Hannah YOUNG b ca 1819 Lancaster PA, d Indiana, lived in
Twin Twp Darke OH in 1850 census, Greenville Twp Darke OH in 1860
census, in Union City, Randolph Co IN in 1870 census - in same
household as son Silas Peter ENGLE.
Hannah m. 1 to - SOWERS who prob died bef 1839. Prob married
abt 1835? Known children: i.William Thomas SOWERS
Hannah m. 2 to Peter ENGLE, b unk, d bef 1850 (prob.
1848-49), m 17 Jun 1839 Montgomery Co OH. Prob lived in Darke Co in
1840's, as Hannah ENGLE is listed in Twin Twp in 1850 census. No
other info about him. Known children (1850 census): ii.Eliza Jane

OH; 1861 Woodington, OH {at time of enlistment in Civil War}; aft
1865 Harrisville, Indiana; moved to Brightwood, IN on 6 Dec 1877.
Worked for C C C & St.L - railroad conductor.
Married Martha Jane KEISTER. She is dau of Samuel KEISTER (19
Mar 1809-14 Nov 1881) & Anna WICKERSHAM (3 Mar 1811-1 Aug 1897); both
Samuel & Anna b. Yocumtown, York PA where all 14 of their children
were born; moved March 1865 to farm near Harrisville, Randolph Co
IN; some of the KEISTER's are buried at Union City, Randolph Co, IN.
Martha Jane KEISTER b 23 Nov 1848 Yocumtown, York PA, d 30 Jul 1919
Indianapolis, bd Crown Hill Cem, Indianapolis IN.
They had only two children:
1. Walter Clarence ENGLE b 2 Sep 1869 Union City,
Randolph Co IN, d 16 Aug 1947, bd Crown Hill Cem, Indianapolis IN. He
married twice; he had no children.
2. Frank Willard ENGLE b 2 Mar 1874 Indianapolis, d
15 Nov 1957 Indianapolis IN, bd Crown Hill Cem, Indianapolis IN; m.
on 22 May 1895 to Grace SLIDER b 20 Nov 1874 Brightwood
(Indianapolis) IN, d 8 Jun 1958, bd Crown Hill Cem, Indianapolis IN.
They had only one child: Thelburn LaRoy ENGLE who m. Eleanor Anna
SAWDON - they are parents of my husband Charles Frank ENGLE.
iv. Rebecca ENGLE b ca 1845, listed in 1850-1860 census. School
teacher in 1860 census. No other info.
v. Isaac ROBBINS prob b. bet Nov 1852 to late 1854 Darke Co OH,
listed in 1860 census; at home in Union City IN in 1870 census. No
other info.
vi. Newphina ROBBINS b abt 1855 or by abt Apr 1856 Darke Co OH,
listed in 1860 census but not in 1870 when she would have been abt
14-15 yrs. No other info.
vii. James ARMACOST b ca 1858? in 1860 census, and in 1870 census
(age 12) at home in Union City IN. No other info.

Questions: Re husbands of Hannah YOUNG: Did - SOWERS have other
children? Did Peter ENGLE have other children? Did Isaac ROBBINS
have children with 1st wife Jane? Did William ARMACOST have children
with 1st wife Elizabeth? If so, they would be step-siblings to our
ancestor Silas Peter ENGLE; seeking that information.
Questions: Re relatives of SOWERS, ENGLE, YOUNG: There are listings
in 1850 Darke Co OH census for James H. ENGLE and 2 different Henry
ENGLE - who are they related to, and might they be relatives of Peter
ENGLE? There are SOWERS listings in the Miami Valley Gen Index -
might any of them be related to the SOWERS that Hannah YOUNG married?
There are listings in 1850 Darke Co census in Neave Twp for Isaac
YOUNG and Henry YOUNG, both b. PA - are they related to John YOUNG &
Rebecca BRITTON? Are any of the other YOUNG families shown in Darke
Co census related to John & Rebecca?
