Herringshaw's Encyclopedia of American Biography of the 19th Century contains the following entry: "Maryott, E. Edgar, physician, author, was born Sept. 29, 1845 in North Stonington, Mass. [sic]. He is the author of the New Medical World, a popular work on hygiene and progressive medicine."
