These notes were compiled by Fendrick during his many years researching Franklin County families. The Kittochtinny Historical Society broke his notes up into family files. Unfortunately the source of the information is not recorded. Most can be assumed to have been drawn from church records or standard sources such as the 1912 Genealogy, but unless another source is given alongside of this one, it has not been located / corraborated. WCL has a photocopy of these notes, both the original hand-written and the typed versions.

Ancestors / Relatives of Emma Schmidt: This particular branch of my database (Lazenby Links) contains information on only the direct ancestors, and in some cases their siblings, of Emma Schmidt, collateral lines have not been continued. I have chosen to limit the database in this way because I can not hope to compare to the information contained in “Galicia Online” which includes tens of thousands of Emma Schmidt’s ancestors, relatives and their descendants, and it is pointless for me to try and copy their information or do anything but direct people to this fantastic database. My hat goes off to the wonderful work that these people have done in compiling information on the German families of Galicia and their descendants.

361. John McCullough & John McCullough II,
John McCullough’s Book, 1805 - 1845.
Original manuscript Account Book, begun by John McCullough (the Indian Captive) on December 20, 1805. McCullough passed away in January 1823, but the account book was taken over even before then by his son, also John McCullough, who opened new accounts beginning in January of 1819 and used it until September 1845. Contains the record of commercial exchanges between the McCulloughs and their neighbors and family over a period of four decades. There are only a few notes that do not record transactions, but it does include accounts of expenses paid while acting as estate administrator on several occassions, including John junior settling his father’s estate. Many prominent, and not so prominent, names from the Mercersburg area in the first half of the nineteenth century. Now in the collection of WCL.

In the photocopy that I have two page spreads, from inside of front cover to inside of back cover, are numbered 1 thru 58, but my copy currently lacks pages 4, 37 and 39. I do not know if this is a numbering error or if the pages were accidentally missed in my copy.

Secrist / Zimmerman Families: This particular branch of my database (Lazenby Links) contains information on only the direct ancestors of Elizabeth Zimmerman, collateral lines have not been continued, except to tie together existing branches within the database. I have chosen to limit the database in this way because these lines are so far removed from my own family research and I believe there is little to be gained by duplicating the work of Kent Secrist and his family, as it is contained in their database Descendants of Bartholomeus SIEGRIST at ww.secristfamily.com/kent/web/descendants/index.htm.
