     Robert Alexander Kincaid was born on 1 June 1852 in Mill Point, Pocahontes Co., Virginia.¹ He married Mary Thomas Patton on 25 May 1880 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.¹ Robert died of progressive muscualr atrophy on 25 January 1926 at age 73.¹

     Robert Truslow Kincaid was born on 11 October 1888.¹ Robert died of diphtheria on 23 September 1892 at age 3.¹

     Sallie Kincaid was born on 29 December 1765 in Virginia.¹ She married Samuel McMurry.¹
     

     After Samuel was killed, Sallie moved to Clark Co., Kentucky. Her sons evenually moved back to Davidson Co., Tennessee to claimed their father's land. The fourth son, Simpson, was born about four years after Samuel's death. His father is unknown. Simpson did not share in the land divided among his three half-brothers. He, however, took care of John, who was intermittently declared mentally incompetent, and Simpson eventually received some of John's share of the land.

     Sally Kincaid married James Thompson.²

     Samuel Kincaid was born circa 1707 in Scotland.¹ He married Huldah Osborne.¹ Samuel died in 1780 in Falling Spring, Alleghany Co., Virginia.¹
     

     When Charles Stuart attempted to retake the throne in 1745 and was defeated four sons of Alexander Kincaid, Samuel, George, James, and Robert, fought in ther rear guard following Stuart's retreat and were captured in the vincinity of Kincaid. They were soon rescued and put aboard a ship at Glasgow where the wives of Samuel and George were waiting. They came to America in early 1746 and went to August Co., Virginia.

     Samuel settled in Beverly Manor, Augusta Co., Virginia. On 16 May 1754, he purchased a tract of one hundred acres from Adam Thompson, which was sold by his son, Samuel Jr., in 1785. In about 1765, Samuel removed to what was then Botetourt Co., later Greenbrier Co., and now Allegany Co., at Falling Springs on Jackson's River.

     Samuel was automatically enrolled as a member of the militia but took not active part in its peacetime workings. However, when war was declared against England, he went to Pittsburgh in 1775, with his old friend and neighbor, Capt. John Wilson, and was wounded in the thigh while on that service. According to family tradition he never fully recovered from this wound and died in 1780. Shortly before his death, Samuel, then a widower, makes deed to his nephew and son-in-law Andrew Kincaid, of a tract he hav bought in 1771 from William Hamilton, on Jackson's River.²

     Samuel Kincaid was born in 1765 in Augusta Co., Virginia.¹ He married first Mary Tincher on 21 June 1785 in Greenbrier Co., Virginia.¹ He married second Hulda Osborne on 13 March 1802.¹ He possibly married third Diana Ewing on 28 July 1828.¹ Samuel died circa 1847.¹
     

     Samuel is said to have had sixteen children.¹

     Samuel Kincaid married Mary Allison on 18 June 1807.¹

     Samuel Kincaid Jr. was born in 1734 in Scotland.¹ He married Margaret Clarke, daughter of James Clarke, circa 1776.² Samuel died on 23 January 1819 in Greenbrier Co., Virginia.²

     Samuel Kincaid [III] married Sallie Kester.¹

     Sarah Rebecca Kincaid was born on 25 October 1825.¹ Sarah died on 7 August 1826.¹

     Stephen Kincaid was born circa 1573 in Scotland.¹ He married Unknown Kincaid, daughter of James Kincaid and Christine Leslie.²

     Thomas Kincaid married Margaret Setoun, daughter of Ninian Seton and Janet Chisholm, before 1534 in Scotland.^3,4 Thomas died circa 1545.⁴
     

     On 12 February 1534, James V granted a charter to Thomas Kincaid of that Ilk and Margaret Setoun, his wife, of the lands of Craglokhart, County Edinburgh. On 16 January 1545, Thomas Kincaid, of-that-Ilk, was a witness to the Writ of Foundation of the Collegiate Church of Biggar, by Malcolm, Lord Fleming.^3,4

     Thomas Kincaid was born circa 1475.¹ He married Edith (Elizabeth) Kincaid, daughter of Patrick Kincaid and Egidie Howstoun, on 3 July 1506 in Linlithgow, Scotland.^2,3 Thomas died after 1531.⁴
     

     Thomas married his cousin and became Laird of Kincaid. King James IV granted a Charter to Thomas Kincaid, son of Thomas Kincaid, Burgess of Edinburgh, and his heirs of the lands of Craglokhart, with the tower and fortalice, County Edinburgh, which Patrick Kincaid of that Ilk personally resigned (Life tenement reserved to Patrick and his wife, Egidie Houstoun).⁴

     In 1508, Thomas Kincaid and Elizabeth, his spouse of that Ilk, are mentioned in a charter granted to the Earl of Lennox to John Stirling of Gragbernard, dated 27th day of May. In 1515 Thomas Kincaid of that Ilk, was a witness to a letter by John Lord Fleming of Bard, granting the lands, Auchinreach and Auchtermony lying in the Shire of Striveling, dated 13th December. On 25 November 1524, an instrument taken at the place, Drumeseer, upon Thomas Kincaid of that Ilk, his going there and giving Catharine Frissel, Lady Fruda, and the write and evidents of the lands to John Tweedle of Drumelseer and his son, for relaxing three gentlemen who were pledges of the Malcolm, Lord Fleming, lying there in captivity. On 31 May 1531, Thomas of that Ilk and Edward were witnesses to a charter by Malcolm, Lord Fleming, to Robert Innes of Invermarky.⁴

     Thomas was Constable of Edinburgh Castle.^4,3
