     Kathleen Amanda Harr was born on 3 November 1904 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.^1,2,3 She married Carl Greenville Lawrence Jr., son of Carl Greenville Lawrence [Sr.] and Jessie Kidder Harper, on 16 September 1924 in Marietta, Cobb Co., Georgia.⁴ Kathleen Amanda Harr was divorced from Carl on 19 November 1947 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.⁵ Kathleen died on 16 November 1986 in Decatur, Dekalb Co., Georgia, at age 82.⁶ She was interred on 19 November 1986 in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee.⁶
     

     The following is a poem that I found among my mother's (Kathleen) effects. It is in her handwriting and I have always assume she wrote it. I have now learned that she had written several poems and a short story about Tabby the purple stuffed kitty cat. It appears that these were written after the birth of Jessie.

     A Babe
     (in your arms)

     Ten little fingers and ten little toes
     The least little bit of a button nose
     Two eyes of blue, a match for the skies above
     A dear little body to cuddle and love
     A round little head, covered with doft golden down
     A smile, a cry, a wee frown

     Louise Idelle Harr was born on 13 August 1906 in Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee.^1,2,3 She married Virgil Ordra Foster on 6 September 1931 in Knox Co., Tennessee.¹ Louise died on 17 May 1976 in Munroe Memorial Hospital, Ocala, Marion Co., Florida, at age 69.⁴ She was interred in May 1976 in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee.^1,4
     

     Louise Idelle Harr was listed as a daughter at age 3, born in Tennessee, in the household of Robert Hunter Harr in Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1910 enumerated 18 April 1910.³

     Louise Idelle Harr was listed as a daughter at age 12, born in Tennessee, in the household of Robert Hunter Harr in Second District, Knox Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1920 enumerated 20 January 1920.²

Mrs. Louis Harr Foster

     Mrs. Louise Harr Foster, 69, 825 SE 9th Street, Ocala, died Monday, May 17, 1976, at Munroe Memorial Hospital.
     Mrs. Foster was housemother for Phi Delta Pheta Fraternity at Gainesville.
     Born in Knoxville, Tenn., she came here two and one-half years ago from Gainsville, and was of the Baptist faith.
     Her survivors include a son, E. Hunter Foster Sr. of Ocala; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Lawrence of Decatur, Ga; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
     The remains were sent to Knoxville, Tenn., for funeral services and interment.⁴

     Robert Hunter Harr was born on 4 September 1878 in Washington Co., Tennessee.^{1,2,3,4,5,6,7} He married first Nora Ellen Wilhoite on 17 June 1902 in Knox Co., Tennessee.⁸ He married second Emma Busbee on 7 June 1917 in Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee.⁹ Robert died of a coronary throbysis on 8 March 1957 in his home on Grove Avenue, Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee, at age 78.^1,10 He was interred on 10 March 1957 in Greenwood Cemetery in Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee.^1,10

     Robert Hunter Harr was listed as the head of a family on the 1910 Census enumerated 18 April 1910, in Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 31, occupation as a printer, linotype, born in Tennessee. Also enumerated in the household: Nora Ellen Harr, Kathleen Amanda Harr and Louise Idelle Harr.⁷

     Robert Hunter Harr was listed as the head of a family on the 1920 Census enumerated 20 January 1920, in Second District, Knox Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 41, occupation as a printer, born in Tennessee. Also enumerated in the household: Emma Harr, Kathleen Amanda Harr and Louise Idelle Harr.⁵

     In the Census of 1930, enumerated 4 April 1930, Robert Hunter Harr was listed as head of household in Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 50, occupation as a printer, born in Tennessee. Also enumerated in the household: Emma Harr.⁴

     Robert made a will on 20 January 1950 in Fountain City, Knox Co., Tennessee.

     Last Will and Testament of Robert H. Harr:

     I, Robert H. Harr, of Fountain City, Tennessee, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void any and all Wills heretofore made by me.
     1st: I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as possible after my death by my Executrix.
     2nd: I hereby give, devise and bequeath all my property of every kind and character, personal and mixed, as well as money due me, all that may be on hand at the time of my death, or that may become due after my death, to my wife, Emma B. Harr.
     I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Emma B. Harr, executrix of this my last Will and Testament, and expressly excuse her from giving bond, filing any inventory, or making any settlement with any Court.

     Obituary of Robert Hunter Harr:

     Harr, Robert Hunter of Grove Avenue, Fountain City, passed away 12 noon Friday at his home. Member of Smithwood Baptist Church. Member of Board of Deacons and Men's Bible Class. He was owner of the R. H. Harr Printing Co. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Emma Busbee Harr; daughters Mrs. Kathleen Lawrence, Springfield, O; Mrs. Virgil Foster, Birmingham, Ala; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The body will remain at the mortuary where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Services 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Gentry's Chapel, Rev. Ralph L. Murray officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Gentry's in charge.¹⁰

     A second article concering his death appearred in the Knoxville Journal on the same page as the obituary.

Print Head Firm Dies

     Robert Hunter Harr, owner of R. H. Harr Printing Co., 712 State Street SW, died at his home on Grove Avenue in Fountain City.
     He was a native of Washington County and a member of Smithwood Baptist Church serving on the board of deacons and also had been active in all of the organizations and the men's bible class until his illness. He had been in failing health for several months.
     Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Emma Busbee Harr; daughters Mrs. Kathleen Lawrence of Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Virgil Foster of Birmingham, Ala., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body was removed to Gentry's Mortuary Chapel where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.¹⁰

Knox Printer, R. H. Harr, Dies

     A Knoxville printing establishment operator of many years, Robert Hunter Harr, died yesterday at his home on Grove Avenue, Fountain City.
     A jovial fellow, elderly Mr. Harr enjoyed hailing acquaintances passing by his open window as he sat at his desk at his plant on State Street just south of Church Avenue. Mrs. Harr has been a partner with her husband in the R. H. Harr Printing Co. for years. The firm does job work and specializes in checkbooks.
     Both are longtime leaders at Smithwood Baptist Church where he was for many years a deacon. He had been in declining health for several months.
     Services will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Gentry chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. He leaves the wife, Mrs. Emma Busbee Harr; daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Lawrence, Springfield, O., and Mrs. Virgil Foster, Birmingham; and three grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Gentry's between 7 and 9 tonight.

     Jeannette Hecker married Thomas Lynd Case, son of Carl Theodore Case and Edwina Marguerite Lynd.¹

     Mildred Hendricks married John Lewis Finley.¹

     Catherine A. Herston was born circa 1835 in Alabama.¹ She married James Henry Deane, son of Jabez Deane and Mary Jane Hill, on 28 February 1857 in Washington Co., Texas.¹ Catherine died before 1900 in Milam Co., Texas.¹

     Nancy Hiemlick married John Webster.¹

     Alexander Hill was born circa 1808 in North Carolina.^1,2,3,4 He married Florence Omega Bumpass, daughter of William Bumpass and Elizabeth Billings, on 9 September 1841 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.^5,6 Alexander died after 6 June 1880 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.
     

     Alexander and Omega moved to Memphis and lived there from 1843 to 1849, when they returned to Davidson Co. and moved back to the old home place.

     Omega received 17 acres from the estate of her father, William Bumpass. John W. Rucker, husband of Tennessee Bumpass, and Greenville D. Grizzard, husband of Martha Bumbass, sued Alexander and Omega over the division of the land from William Bumpass' will. The case took from 1862 to 1871 to settle.

     On 1 February 1871, Alexander and Omega used the 17 acres to secure a loan of $100 to send one of their daughters, not identified, to St. Secelia Academy. The debt was paid on 9 September 1871 and the lien on the land released.

     On 1 January 1866, Alexander deeded 70 acres, more or less, from his share of the estate of his father, John Hill, to his eldest son, George W. Hill. This land is described as being north of the land of Alexander's mother, Margaret L. Hill. This is the only place that the middle initial of Margaret has been found. The deed was recorded 15 May 1866. George later moved to Shelby Co. and sold a part of this land, 3/4 acre, to a negro named Hiram Overton. George was back in Davidson Co. by the 1880 census.

     Alexander deeded land to his son John B. Hill on 21 February 1877.

     Alexander Hill was listed at age 42, born in North Carolina, as a member of the household of John Hill in Davidson Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1850, enumerated 3 September 1850.¹

     In the Census of 1860, enumerated 4 June 1860, Alexander Hill was listed as a head of household in 11th Civil District, Davidson Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 52, occupation as a farmer with real estate value of $2,800 and personal estate value of $1,000, born in Tennessee. Also enumerated in the household: Omega Hill, George W. Hill, William Alexander Hill, John Bumpass Hill, Margaret Ellen Hill, Christopher Columbus Hill and Alpha Omega Hill.²

     In the Census of 1870, enumerated 18 August 1870, Alexander Hill was listed as a head of household in Davidson Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 59, occupation as a farmer with real estate value not listed and personal estate value of $1000, born in North Carolina. Also enumerated in the household: Omega Hill, George W. Hill, William Alexander Hill, John Bumpass Hill, Margaret Ellen Hill, Christopher Columbus Hill, Alpha Omega Hill, Neal S. B. Hill, Mary Florence Hill and Elizabeth Billings.³

     In the Census of 1880, enumerated 6 June 1880, Alexander Hill was listed as head of household in Davidson Co., Tennessee. He was listed at age 70, occupation as a farmer, born in North Carolina. Also enumerated in the household: Omega Hill, Neal S. B. Hill and Florence Hill.⁴

     Alpha Omega Hill was born on 3 May 1858 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.^{1,2,3,4,5,6,7} She married Henry Smith Lawrence, son of Lemuel Lawrence and Nancy Daniel, on 1 January 1878 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.^8,9 Alpha died on 2 November 1948 in home of her granddaughter, Mrs. W. P. Noblitt, Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Alabama, at age 90.^1,10 She was interred on 4 November 1948 in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.^1,10

     Alpha Omega Hill was listed at age 11, born in Tennessee, as a member of the household of Alexander Hill in Davidson Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1870, enumerated 18 August 1870.³

     Alpha Lawrence was listed as wife at age 22, born in Tennessee, in the household of Henry Smith Lawrence in Davidson Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1880 enumerated 5 June 1880.¹¹

     Lawrence--Tuesday morning, November 2nd, 1948, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. W. P. Noblett, Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Alpha Omega Lawrence age 90 years, Widow of Henry S. Lawrence. Survived by son Carl G. Lawrence of Birmingham, Ala; daughter Mrs. John W. Smith of Old Hickory, Tenn; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. Remains will arrive here Wednesday afternoon and will be at the funeral home, 2014 West End Ave., where services will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock by Rev. B. B. Pennington. Her grandsons and A. B. and William Lawrence will serve as pallbearers. Interment Spring Hill cemetery. Johnson & Carlton Co., Funeral Directors.¹⁰

     Andrew J. Hill was born circa 1848 in Rutherford Co., Tennessee.¹ Andrew died in 1877 in Mississippi Co., Arkansas.¹

     Bethel L. Hill was born in 1855 in Rutherford Co., Tennessee.¹ He married Unknown Ralph in Tennessee.¹ Bethel died in 1889 in Mississippi Co., Arkansas.¹

     Catherine Jane Hill was born on 8 September 1920.¹ She married first Thomas Lynd Case, son of Carl Theodore Case and Edwina Marguerite Lynd, on 14 March 1938.¹ Catherine Jane Hill was divorced from Thomas. Catherine died on 23 May 1986 in Covington, Louisiana, at age 65.¹

     Charles A. Hill was born in November 1880 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.¹ He married Donna P. ? on 24 January 1918 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.¹ Charles died after 18 January 1941.¹

     Charles James Hill was born on 18 July 1838 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.^1,2 He married Margaret Louise Newman on 1 March 1860 in Davidson Co., Tennessee.¹ Charles died on 24 March 1928 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, at age 89. He was interred in March 1928 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.¹
