     William de Cosunton married Elizabeth de Vere, daughter of John de Vere and Maud de Badlesmere, before 18 January 1368/69.¹
     

     William was also known as [Sir] William de Cosunton.

     Levis C. Cothran was born on 5 October 1901.^1,2 He married Beulah M. Hansel, daughter of J. Walter Hansel and Elizabeth Brogden.¹ Levis died in September 1975 at age 73. Last residence listed in the Social Security Death Index was Paris, Henry Co., Tennessee.^2,1

     Mary Alice Cotton was born circa 1853.¹ She married George Alexander Strother on 31 May 1872 in Sumner Co., Tennessee.¹ Mary died on 30 May 1919 in Sumner Co., Tennessee.¹

     Catherine Couch was born circa 1790 in North Carolina.^1,2,3 She married John Daniel on 28 December 1814 in Orange Co., North Carolina.⁴ Catherine died after 1870 in Tennessee.³
     

     In the Census of 1850, enumerated 9 October 1850, Catherine Couch was listed as a head of household in Sumner Co., Tennessee. She was listed at age 60, occupation as a farmer with property value of $1,200, born in North Carolina. There are three children listed with her, Thomas age 10, Joshua age 8, and Mary age 6. It is uknown whether these are her children. They were not mention in the will of her husband, John Daniels, and with her age of 60 it seems unlikely that they are hers. Perhaps they are the children of an unknown son who is deceased..²

     Catherine Daniel was listed at age 65, born in North Carolina, as a member of the household of Lemuel Lawrence in Sumner Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1860, enumerated 14 June 1860.⁵

     In the Census of 1870, enumerated 7 June 1870, Catherine Couch was listed as a head of household in Gordonsville, Logan Co., Kentucky. She was listed at age 46, occupation as keeping house with personal property value of $100, born in North Carolina.³

     Enguerrand de Coucy was born circa 1339.² He married Isabel of England, daughter of Edward III of England and Philippa of Hainaut, on 27 July 1365.³ Enguerrand died in 1397.²

     Alice Council was born before 9 November 1674 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹

     Anne Council married Robert Lawrence [IV], son of Robert Lawrence [III] and Sarah Exum, say 1723.^1,2 Anne died after 19 April 1756.³
     

     Ann Lawrence was called daughter and Sarah granddaughter in the will of Susannah Council on 19 April 1756. On 7 March 1752/3, the land of Ann Lawrence in Nansemond County was processioned by Robert Lawrence and Thomas Pinner in the presence of John Lawrence and Samuel Lawrence.⁴

     Anne was still living when her mother, Susannah, made her will dated 19 April 1756.

     Arthur Council was born circa 1712.¹

     Austin Council was born circa 1718.¹

     Blanna Council married Joshua Pender.¹

     Charles Council was born on 15 August 1727 in Tarboro, Edgecombe Co., North Carolina.^1,2,3 He married Arodice Bass, daughter of John Bass [Sr.], in July 1759 in North Carolina.^2,3 Charles died on 6 July 1805 in Edgecombe Co., North Carolina, at age 77.³
     

     Dixie Hammond's Southern Relatives indicates that Charles married Edy Worrell. Forrest King on his web page indicates that Charles married Arodice Bass and had a child Willis.

     Charlotte Council was born on 4 December 1777.¹ She married Willis Cherry.¹

     Christian Council was born in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.^1,2 She married Richard Daughtrey, son of John Daughtrey [Sr.] and Elizabeth Williams, between 1749 and 1757 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.³

     Christian Council was born before 1679 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.^1,2 She married Edward Bryan.³ Christian died in 1743 in North Carolina.¹

     Christian Council was born on 18 August 1763.¹

     Cleary Council was born in March 1771.¹ She married first Samuel Cherry.¹ She married second Benjamin Whitfield [Sr.].¹

     Elizabeth Council was born on 15 September 1761.¹ She married Daniel Bunting.¹

     Hardy Council was born in 1678 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.¹ He married Susannah Fulgham, daughter of Michael Fulgham and Ann Izard, in 1705.^2,3 Hardy died before 7 March 1750 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.⁴
     

     Hardy Council was appointed Churchwarden in Newport Parish, Isle of Wight County circa 1737.⁵

     Hardy made a will on 22 February 1748/49 in Newport Parish, Virginia. Hardy Council's will names his wife Susannah, daughters Mary, Ann, Martha, Lucy, Susannah, and Christian; and sons Hardy, Charles, Michael, and Joshua. Wife Susannah and son Charles Council were named as executors. The will was witnessed by Jacob Dickinson, Robert Johnson, and Hardy Lawrence.

     His will was recorded on 7 March 1750 in Newport Parish, Virginia.

     Hardy Council was born on 25 December 1760.¹ He married Nancy Taylor.¹
