     Jesse Daughtrey was born say 1735 in Bertie Co., North Carolina.^1,2 He married first Unknown ?.² Jesse married second Rhoda Ward before 1785 in Rich Square, Northampton Co., North Carolina.² Jesse died after 1 January 1796 in Northampton Co., North Carolina.¹
     

     Thomas Daughtree gave 160 acres of land in Uraha Woods, joining Patterson's branch and Catawishey for "the love, good will, and affection I bear my son," registered in Northampton County Court November 1756.³

     Jesse served in the Revolutionary War as a private under Col. Abraham Shepard. He enlisted August 9, 1778 to Jan. 8, 1780. According to Norman J. Flythe of North Carolina, Jesse was previously married before marrying Rhoda and had several children from that marriage.².

     Jesse made a will on 1 January 1796 in Northampton Co., North Carolina.      Jesse's will:

In the name of God, amen. I Jesse Daughtrey of No Hampton County in No Carolina being of sound mind, desposing mind and memory do constitute and appoint this my last will and testament in manner and form folowing viz ----

     Jesse Daughtrey was born on 25 June 1817 in Alabama.^1,2,3,4,5 He married Lucinda Evans, daughter of Moses Evans and Sarah Stuard, on 28 April 1839 in Dade Co., Missouri.¹ Jesse died on 2 March 1886 at age 68.¹ He was interred in Daughtrey Cemetery in Dade Co., Missouri.¹
     

     In the Census of 1850, enumerated 10 October 1850, Jesse Daughtrey was listed as a head of household in Dade Co., Missouri. He was listed at age 32, occupation as a farmer with real estate value of $1000, born in Alabama. Also enumerated in the household: Lucinda Daughtrey, James M. Daughtrey, Flemon Daughtrey, Lemuel Bledsoe Daughtrey and Eliza Jane Daughtrey.²

     In the Census of 1860, enumerated 13 June 1860, Jesse Daughtrey was listed as a head of household in Smith, Dade Co., Missouri. He was listed at age 42, occupation as a farmer with real estate value of $6000 and personal estate value of $3000, born in Alabama. Also enumerated in the household: Lucinda Daughtrey, James M. Daughtrey, Flemming Dean Daughtrey, Lemuel Bledsoe Daughtrey, Eliza Jane Daughtrey, Mary Ann Daughtrey, Sarah F. Daughtrey and Lucinda Florence Daughtrey.³

     In the Census of 1870, enumerated 9 July 1870, Jesse Daughtrey was listed as a head of household in Smith, Dade Co., Missouri. He was listed at age 53, occupation as a farmer with real estate value of $10,000 and personal estate value of $1541, born in Alabama. Also enumerated in the household: Lucinda Daughtrey, James M. Daughtrey, Eliza Jane Daughtrey, Mary Ann Daughtrey and Florence L. Daughtrey.⁴

     In the Census of 1880, enumerated 14 June 1880, Jesse Daughtrey was listed as head of household in Smith, Dade Co., Missouri. He was listed at age 62, occupation as a farmer, born in Alabama. Also enumerated in the household: Lucinda Daughtrey and Lucinda Florence Daughtrey.⁵

     Jesse Franklin Daughtry was listed as the head of a family on the 1910 Census enumerated 30 April 1910, in Coleman Co., Texas. He was listed at age 28, occupation as a blacksmith, born in Alabama. Also enumerated in the household: Daisy O. Daughtry, Douglas M. Daughtry and Lucy M. Daughtry.³

     This Jessie Daughtry suddenly appears on the 1930 U. S. Census as a daughter at age 39 (born circa 1891) of Joshua Daughtry. I cannot locate her on any prior Census. The Census indicates that she was born in Alabama yet it appears that Joshua was in Texas prior to 1886 as all of his children beginning with Netta Jane were born in Texas.

     Joanna Daughtry was born on 1 January 1860 in Halls Township, Sampson Co., North Carolina.^1,2,3,4 Conflicting evidence states that Joanna Daughtry was born in November 1861 in North Carolina.^5,6 She married Alexander House circa 1908.¹ Joanna died on 15 March 1927 in Sampson Co., North Carolina, at age 67.¹
     

     Joanna Daughtry was listed at age 8, born in North Carolina, as a member of the household of Guilford Daughtry in Halls, Sampson Co., North Carolina, in the Census of 1870, enumerated 16 July 1870.²

     Joanna Daughtry was listed as a daughter at age 18, born in North Carolina, in the household of Guilford Daughtry in Halls, Sampson Co., North Carolina, in the Census of 1880 enumerated 4 June 1880.³

     Joel Daughtrey was born on 6 August 1871 in Missouri.^1,2,3,4 He married Mary Lula Goodnight circa 1899.¹ Joel died on 6 February 1935 at age 63.¹ He was interred in Daughtrey Cemetery in Dade Co., Missouri.¹

He was listed at age 48, occupation as a laborer on a farm, born in Missouri. Also enumerated in the household: Lulu Daughtrey, Mack Perlatti, Helen Perlatti, Frances Perlatti and Martha Samuel Jackson Daughtrey.³

     In the Census of 1930, enumerated 8 April 1930, Joel Daughtrey was listed as head of household in Greenfield, Dade Co., Missouri. He was listed at age 58, occupation as a cement worker, born in Missouri. Also enumerated in the household: Lulu M. Daughtrey.⁴

     Joel H. Daughtry was born on 1 February 1800 in North Carolina.^1,2 He married Nancy ?.² Joel died on 20 January 1853 at age 52.¹ He was buried in Gallatin Cemetery, Gallatin, Sumner Co., Tennessee.¹
     

     Joel H. Daughtry was listed at age 49, born in North Carolina, occupation as a Confectioner with real estate value of $3000, as a member of the household of William Daughtry in Sumner Co., Tennessee, in the Census of 1850, enumerated 30 September 1850.²

     John Daughtrey was born in Nansemond Co., Virginia.¹ He married first Charity ?.¹ John Daughtrey married second Margaret Murphy Lawrence, daughter of John Lawrence Jr. and Margaret Murphy, before 1742 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.^2,3,4 John died circa 1749 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia.^4,5
     

     John made a will on 28 April 1742. John's will: 5 shillings "unto my lawful heir", all the rest is left to his loving wife, Margaret Daughtry. Witnesses: Jesse Browne, William Moore, William Lawrence.⁵

     His will was proved on 5 October 1749 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia. Inventory of estate was returned by wife, Margaret Daughtry, 1 March 1749.⁵
