County of Orange

Whereas, Mrs E A Harmon during her life time did by verbal gift convey unto her daughter Mrs Sarah Harmon, the wife of John Harmon, a certain tract of Land hereinafter described; and, whereas, the said Mrs E. A. Harmon died without making a Deed for said tract of Land to the said Mrs Sarah Harmon; and Whereas the said Mrs E A. Harmon at her death left as her sole surviving heirs the following children, to-wit: G. W. Singleton, J. H. Singleton, A. N. Singleton, E. P. Singleton, J. M. Singleton and Mrs Sarah Harmon and the two children of Sideny Singleton, who was a son of the said Mrs E. A Harmon, to-wit: E N Singleton and A. R. Singleton;

Whereas each and all of us are desirous of carrying out our mother[']s and grandmother[']s wishes respectively,

Now, therefore, in consideration of the premises and in order to perfect by paper and record title, the title in the said Mrs Sarah Harmon and John Harmon, to the tract of Land hereinafter described; Know all men by these presents that we G. W. Singleton, J. H. Singleton, A. N. Singleton, E. P. Singleton, J. M. Singleton, E. N. Singleton and A. R. Singleton have and do by these presents, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Mrs Sarah and John Harmon the following described piece and parcel of Land situated in Orange County, Texas, and a part of the John Harmon Survey which was granted to the said John Harmon by the Republic of Texas on the 9th day of February 1846 by grant No 407 Vol. 13 of the General Land Office of the State of Texas and now particularly described as follows: By a ... continued

continued from previous page ...Deed from J. H. Singleton to Mrs E. A. Harmon executed 3rd day of August 1871 and recorded in Orange County Texas, to which reference is here made for full and complete description of the Land conveyed, and which said Deed for description is made a part hereof.

To have and hold the above described forever. And we do here by Quit claim any and all right, title and interest which we or either of us may have in and to said tract of Land by virtue of our heirship of the said Mrs E. A. Harmon, dec'd It being the intention of this instrument to perfect and carry out the wishes of the said Mrs E. A. Harmon during her life time and which was rendered invalid by virtue of the fact that it was only a verbal conveyance instead of a written one In testimony whereof witness our hands on this the 20 day of July 1897.
