Church Street Burying Grounds

The Church Street Burying Grounds is by the Church of Christ Uniting (RSCOCU.COM) , 22 Church Street, Richfield Springs. It is also known as the old Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Cemetery was canvassed by Judy Green in 2003. An Oneida Chapter DAR inventory of 1927 as copied by Mrs. M.M. Hatch, South Columbia, NY was found. The graves indicated by an asterisk (*) are in the old listing but were not found in 2003. There are old and broken stones. Some information is hard to read and may not be accurate. The rows start at the back of the church. Standing at the back of the church and looking at the cemetery, the numbers run from left to right.

A DAR Historical marker in the picture below reads: "1776 Soldiers Freedom Chamblain Capt. Thomas Van Horne, Lt. and Pvts: Nathan Dow, John Durthick, Daniel Patchen Jr., Willian Tunnicliff, Cideon Wilbur". Click here for a close up picture of the marker.
