The Will of Joseph Erb (? - 1804)Dated: 31 Mar 1804. Probated: ?
Summary: Written in German. Describes Joseph as "of Warwick".
Witnesses: Peter Erb and George Minig.
Source: LDS Film #21356, page 528 [via Catherine Paystrup]
Note: Peter Erb, the witness, would probably have been Peter Erb (1759-1832), the youngest son of John (Hans) Erb 1713. He would have been 55 in 1804 and he lived in Warwick. The identity of Joseph Erb, the author of the will, is less clear. The logical candidate would be Joseph Erb (1758-1830), the only Joseph Erb listed in the 1790 Census of Warwick. He was the second son of Christian Erb 1734 and was an age-mate and first cousin of Peter. However, one source has this Joseph dying in 1830. On the other hand, the information about him is sketchy and inconsistent, so the death date could be an error.
