1942 HMS Kingston Ceylonite (FY 214) ASW Trawler

HMS Kingston Ceylonite dead are buried in Virginia Beach as is another from HMT Bedofrdshire.

History: Built in 1935. Taken over by the Admiralty in September 1939.
Displacement: 448 tons. Armament: 1 4" gun. 
Lent to the United Stated Navy in February 1942. 

On 15 June 1942, while escorting convoy KN-109, HMS Kingston Ceylonite ran into a minefield laid off Virginia Beach on 11 June by U-701. Kingston Ceylonite sank sank in position 36.52N, 75.51W. 18 men out of a crew of 32 went down with the ship. 
Hit by U-boat Sunk on 15 Jun, 1942 by U-701 (Degen).
