ST ANDREWS UNDERSHAFT Also in Leadenhall Street. Derives its name from the unusually tall maypole which was erected next to the church - the maypole was denounced as heathen and burnt in 1549. Not damaged in the Great fire, has traces of various buildings and rebuildings in 1520, 1627, 1684, 1830 and 1875. The organ dates from 1696. Hans Holbein is buried here.
