Commercial sites of Major Interest

These sites have census and parish records and service records etc etc You need to check that what they have versus your needs before subscribing. Some have pay to view for short term use. No one site has all you need. Some of these have data included in sub for which you would also pay at The National Archives.

Some libraries and societies may provide access to these sites.

a good way to find out What's coming soon at  Ancestry.com
Ancestry do have a lot if material - some hard to find

2009 "soon" London data see Historical parish content for London boroughs - Ancestry.co.uk
and LMA records and archives

Findmypast - http://www.findmypast.com/ is building on the parish register collection and as of 8/2008 have some good burial records especially for London. Part of their specials is 1911 Census website

mainly has some burial records from NBI but not all counties. Also some census including a wildcard search of 1881 which is free. Their data is being moved to  Findmypast  see details here Family History Online

http://www.thegenealogist.co.ukis building on the parish register collection

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk - has some census but also family trees - not really for research but for contacting cousins.
