1851 Transcription of the 3rd item was Worstead Worcestershire - What do you think
Some problems with that
1. In 1861 Elizabeth shows as born Oxfordshire and in 1871 Banbury Oxford and
I have found a baptism in 1816 in Banbury that matches father as John
2. All other birth places on this form are in foirmat "County then
place" as in previous record "Surrey Southwark"
3. Worstead is in Norfolk not Worcs

Opinions received on the place

|
| The first word Worcestersh and the second Worcester. The Ws in both cases similar to that in William on same page. |
|
| it looks very much like Worcester | |
| I think it might be Hereford. | |
| I don't think the first letter of either word is W It doesn't look like the W of William or Working on the same page. But if it is, Banbury is very close to the Warwickshire border. It could be an H First word could be Hereford - or Hertford? Is there a place beginning with H and ending with 'cester' nearby? But it's not very like any other capital letter on the page. Pity there isn't a capital O on the page to compare. |
