Summary of Thomas Lankshear of Witney, gentleman: will made 28 April 1792 and proved 19 Sept 1792 at Oxford Archdeaconry Court (ref.: MSS Oxon Wills 218.75)
His wife Mary is to inherit his real estate for her natural life; after that, Thomas L's son Joseph L. is to inherit the property bought from Palmer Gray (though Thomas' son William L. is to have right of way through the gateway and yard to the part of the premises he now occupies) and Thomas' daughter Ann Lankshear is to have property and mill land in the parish of "Brodwell", Oxfordshire [this is probably Broadwell].
Thomas' son William L. owes £80 to his father; he is to pay this to the executors and then it is to be divided equally between Thomas' sons Thomas L. and Joseph L.
Thomas also cancels a debt of £100 owed to him by son Robert Lankshear.
The residue of Thomas' property was to go to his wife Mary, who was appointed executrix; Thomas also nominated two trustees (John Leake of Witney, gent, and Thomas Wright the younger of Curbridge, yeoman) who were also to be executors.
Thomas did not sign the will but made his mark.
